INTRODUCTION
Business communication is very important for an individual, this play a significant role not
only in professional life but also in personal life. It is very important for an individual to
concentrate on the effectiveness of the communication(Heo and Lee, 2018). The following
report is based on the employees of the Brit-Tech company to came office two days per week
after the lockdown. The following report is going to give information on the importance of
the communication in an individual life and how they can effectively identify the challenges
and obstacles during the process of communication. This report also covers the diverse
strategies to face the challenges and obstacles and along with this general theory of
organisational communication. Afterword this report covers the barriers of communication
which made employees unwilling to return to the office and the strategies made by the
respective company to overcome from these barriers.

Challenges and barriers of effective communication
Different types of challenges and barriers of communication has been discussed below: -
Physical barriers: -as the employees of the respective company hesitate to travel in
the public transport because of this pandemic and along with this due to the hygiene
factor they don’t want to travel from place to another place.
Emotional Barriers: - After the arisen of COVID 19 work from home has been
allotted to their workers. But it has been seen that employees of the company feel
more comfortable while working from their home (Guffey and Loew, 2021). They
feel that they more productively carry out the task as they work according to their
own schedule. Along with this they wanted to avoid the crowded places so that they
don’t get in touch with other people.
Organisational Structure Barrier: - After the outbreak of COVID 19 many
guidelines have been made by the government of UK related to the safety of people
like proper vaccinations, social distancing, proper hygiene and many more. As the
employees of the company not only worried about the social distancing within the
workplace but also worried about the proper ventilation (Sheffield, 2020). The
employees of the respective company are not sure that whether the proper measures
have been followed by the company or not.
Perceptual barriers: - vaccination is compulsory for all the employees but it has
been seen that some of the employees who work in respective company feels that
vaccines harm them and along with this, they also worried about the discrimination
within the organisation. The vaccinated people are not comfortable to interact with the
non-vaccinated employees.
Strategies in order to overcome these barriers
Following are the Effective strategies to overcome communication barriers has been
discussed below: -

Fuller Information: - this is being considered as one of the most important strategies
to overcome from the communication barrier. It is very important for the employees
of the company to aware about the rules and regulation of the government. If they get
the half information from the wrong sources then they got panicked. So, the
organisation must have to provide the full information to their employees (Chan,
2020).
Social Media: - with the use of this strategy they can effectively communicate with
their employees and remove the false information related to the vaccines and many
more.

Following are the diverse set organisational communication theories which have been
discussed below: -
Team Learning theory: - In this theory all the team members of the company an
effectively established a communication by listening each other thoughts and vision.
As every individual has its own point of view and provide new idea and alternative in
order to solve the different issues. This not only help in increasing the productivity
but also help in improving the performance of the company. In addition to this, the
main motive behind this theory is to develop a good and healthy working environment
within the workplace and individual paid more focus towards the company’s goals
rather then their personal goal. Internal communication has also been increases which
ultimately improves the functioning of the management.
Agenda Setting Theory: - This theory is totally related to the ability to influence the
public agenda in a very efficient and efficient manner. The study of this theory
described that in which suitable method media tries to attract the audience and along
with this, this established popular hierarchical structure.
Act theory of communication: - the act theory of communication can be defined by
effectively analyse the knowledge of motivations and distribution of information by
using thoughts, ideas, experience. The important element of this theory is that to
complete the task in a very effective manner everyone must have to follow the diverse
set of this process. With the help of this theory psychological hypothesis can be
determined which can be obtained by immense experience (Cyphert and et. al., 2019).
Adaptive structural Theory: -this theory is being considered as one of the most
important communication theories. In this theory focus has been made on the
structure of the communication process in which individuals are involved in
interacting with the digital media technology. In addition to this more focus has been
paid on the role of advance information technology and any change in the
organisation. In the structural theory this is the integration of technology which help
in maintaining the communication.
Actor Network Theory: - this is also being considered as the most important
communication theory in which the everything which exits in the environment are
contently changing network of relationship. This theory assumes that outside this
relationship network nothing will be exists. This theory is also known as social theory
in which the process of efficient thinking has been defined. With the help of this

because of several false news and misinformation stating that vaccine can have bad
side effects that can harm their body which is actually Wrong information. Therefore,
individual should properly Understand and no the effectualness all these vaccines and
it’s support in prevention of this virus.
Physical barrier - this type of barrier involves the inconvenience of not going out or
unable to Reach the centre of vaccination because of any issue such as not having a
vehicle and many more.
Outline government strategies to overcome these barriers:
The government of UK has formed various techniques to overcome the known
communication barriers which are mentioned Below.
In accordance to ensure the easiness of availability of vaccine in all the vaccines
centre, the government of United Kingdom has made strategies to form nearby centres
of vaccination, concentrating on the areas which are most populated(Koponen, 2019).
Moreover, to It, the government of UK develops controllers for the vaccines on the
regular interval of time in order to remove the physical barriers that people face.
Many people are afraid of vaccines and they prefer not to get vaccinated due to the
wrong information and assumption regarding the vaccines and it is effects.
In accordance to eliminate emotional as well as informational barrier, British
government has initiated various marketing campaigns in order to provide more appropriate
information which can support them in guiding people about the relevant information
regarding the vaccine. The government utilise is several platforms such as newspapers,
television, social media, billboards and several more. The UK government gives a full range
of appropriate information on these platforms like how people can book their vaccine slots,
about the side effects of vaccines and many others relevant information.

From the above report it is concluded that, business communication is an essential method for
the exchange of thoughts among several people if actual communication is crucial because
only a single individual can know the appropriate reason for communicating information. As
there are specific hurdles or issues in communication a person should evaluate these
problems and make appropriate strategies in order to successfully reduce these hurdles of
communication. These barriers in communication can actually lead to ineffective as well as
miscommunication.
