INTRODUCTION
British airways in the flag carrier airline of UK headquartered at Waterside,
Harmondsworth holding to be second largest airline in UK on basis of fleet size following
EasyJet (). British Airways serves 14 domestic destinations and 217 international destinations in
85 countries, as of April 2020.in this report there will be discussion on interdependency of
different function with each other in British airways
Business function
Marketing
Marketing is in action for business promoting and selling products or services, including market
research and advertising (Dimitriadi, 2016). Marketing department is significant for the
organizations holding up obligation to promote business into competitive market. marketing tens
to have significant research to identify market and target customers. The role of marketing in
British airways marketing plays crucial roles promoting the business value and vision in target
audiences delivering the will excellent services and awareness of benefits of British airways
services. Its obligation of marketing departments to reach out customer an investors along with
identification of recent trends in completive business environment.
Operation
An organization's operations function is concerned with getting things done i.e. producing goods
and services for customers (Liedong, Rajwani and Lawton, 2020). This department is responsible
for operation process from starting to end of the service delivered to British airways. The
process is properly lined up with several other function of business such as marketing, finance
and human resources (Butt,, 2020). Operation department is responsible to look into consumer
schedules along with looking into new product development and research.
Finance department
According to Bonneville and Dewey : Financing consists of raising , providing , managing of all
the money , capital or funds of any kind to be used in connection with the business (Nizamidou,
Vouzas and Gotzamani, 2019). This is valuable department of company known for its legal
entity and accountability regarding various resources, acquiring funds and managing of funds.
On the other hand, this department is also responsible for planning of funds expenditure in
several aquation and business expansion. For example, in British airways acquisition and
business expansion finance department will be look into payback period and new present issue of

various assets making firm to take decision. it also helps out in calculation for firm profitability
and investment.
Human resource department
HR department have responsibility to have selection of appropriate candidates along with
providing them proper training to achieve personal goals and business standards (Nizamidou,,
Vouzas and Gotzamani, 2019). Human resource are valuable assets of the company managed by
manager of HR departments. They are accountable managing employee and staff member of
British airways. This included the process of hiring, recruiting, training and firing of the
employees along with administering the employee’s benefits. For example British airway are
several jobs with different job description.
The business function of British airways are different from each other along with creating
up clear dependency for completion of roles and obligation. Marketing dept is clearly depend for
HR department to provide up with right candidates helping out the firm to achieve business
targets. Whereas HR will look into proper talent acquisition and employee motivation so they
work efficiently and effectively in different business operation (Dimitriadi, 2016). Operation
department and marketing, one has clear dependency on each other. Marketing helps operation
as estimate of service demand among customer and relative competitive positioning. Whereas
finance department will have proper allocation of funds to different business function to cope up
with business expenditure as marketing needs funds for business promotion, HR need funds to
recruitment expenditure an operation need to procurement of services.
CONCLUSION
From the above file, it has been concluded as the business functions are different from
each other along with creating up clear dependency for completion of roles and obligation
(Dimitriadi, 2016). Marketing department plays crucial roles promoting the business value and
vision in target audiences whereas operation department is responsible to look into consumer
schedules
