Introduction
World history is full of origin, development and the decline of a number of kingdoms
in the world itself. History tells the readers about the various ways in which the different
kingdoms have developed in the world itself, how these kingdoms have developed over the
years and also the number of reasons that these kingdoms led to its decline itself. Two of such
examples will be the British Empire and that of the Ghanaian kingdom itself. Both of these
empires have originated and developed as well as declined throughout the period of history
itself. This essay will be the basis for the comparison and contrasts between these two
kingdoms of British Empire and the Ghanaian Kingdom itself.
The purpose of this essay is to make a comparison and contrast of the origins,
development and decline of the British Empire with that of the Ghanaian Kingdom
itself.
Discussion
Origins
It is known to the readers of the essay itself that both the British and the Ghanaian
Kingdoms are known to be two of the greatest kingdoms of all times. Both the British
empires and the kingdom have had different ways by which these kingdoms have originated
and developed over the years itself. The British Empire comprised of the dominions,
territories, protectorates and other territories which were controlled by the kingdom of the
Brits themselves. The British Empire is said to have originated when the countries of England
and Scotland were sad to be of two different countries themselves. The origin of the British
Empire took place when the King of England sent out various explorers to the various parts
of the world itself in order to look for new areas where the Brits would be able to colonize for
their kingdoms themselves. These events had led to the incidents of the plantations of Ireland

and other colonies in various parts of the world itself. The first British Empire was formed
when Elizabeth I granted a patent to the explorers of the country to go out in exploration of
new lands for the purpose of establishing their colonies in these new parts of the world itself.
This ultimately led to the establishment of North Carolina as discovered by Walter Rayleigh
himself. The second British Empire started when the British empire to explore the lands and
the areas of Pacific which ultimately brought them to the countries of India and in other
Asian and African countries itself.
Similarly, the Ghanaian Kingdom was also another of the important kingdoms of the
times itself. The Ghana Kingdom, also known as the Ghana Empire was a West African
empire which was mainly located in the area of the Mauritan and that of Mali itself. The
origins of the Ghanaian empire can be said to have originated according to the theoretical
explanations which have been provided by the various experts themselves. These experts
state different ways by which the kingdom of Ghana was established by the Africans
themselves. These interpretations range from the impact of the Islam rulers leading to the
formation of the kingdom to the role of the 22 kings who had played a major part in the
history of the origin of the Ghanaian kingdom. In addition to this, many other experts are also
of the opinion that the presence of the nomadic tribes in the country of Ghana had led to the
formation of the Ghanaian kingdom itself. Hence, these led to the formation of both the
kingdoms of the two different countries of the world itself.
Development
In the field of development, it can be sad that both the British Empire as well as the
Ghanaian Kingdom had developed and had become much known during its time-period. This
can best be explained by analysing the various activities and the events which took place in
both these kingdoms during this time itself (Austin et.all, 2014). In the case of the British
Empire, the development of the country can be seen in the way in which the country gained

new areas during the exploration times to the establishment of new colonies in these areas,
and the abolition of slavery which took place during the presence of the Brits in the country
itself. In addition to this, the developmental phase of the British kingdoms also includes the
imperial century of the British Empire in the world (Crinson, 2016). In this case, it can be
said that the developmental phase of the British Empire has led to many significant events in
the history of the British kingdom itself.
Just like that of the British Empire, the Ghanaian kingdom also saw a number of
developments which took place in the kingdom of Ghana during that time itself. In this case it
can be said that these developments which took place in the country included the impact of
the Muslim rulers in the country who had established a strong kingdom of Ghana itself. Other
developments which took place in the country at the time included the development of the
economy of the country itself as well as the attitudes of the Government and how the rulers of
the country reacted to the foreign people who had come to the country for the purpose of the
exploration of the country itself (Hanson, 2016). These helped the readers to understand the
understand the various ways in which the developments took place in the African and the
British kingdoms in the history of the countries itself.
Decline
It can be said that both the British Empire and the Ghanaian Kingdom had declined
due to a number major reasons itself. In the case of the British Empire, the main cause for the
decline of the kingdoms itself. In the case of the British Empire itself, it can be said that the
main cause of decline is the Second World War (Fuller, 2016). This is because of the fact that
although Britain emerged victorious, the war had a devastating effect on the country itself,
which led to the decline and the decolonization by the British empire in the country itself.

Similarly, it can be said that the decline of the Ghanaian kingdom was also due to a
number of purposes. The first main purpose for the decline of the Ghanaian kingdom is the
sacking of the kingdom by the Almoravid movement in the year 1076-77. However, despite
facing decline of the kingdom, Ghana is still considered to be an empire in the present times
itself due to the ruler of Ghana still considered to be “Malik” and the people serving him are
his subjects.
Impact
While analysing the kingdoms of Britain and that of Ghana, it can be said that the
kingdom of Britain is the one which is said to have the most impact in the modern society.
This is because of the fact that the rules and the regulations which were introduced by the
Brits in the societies of the early days can be seen in the modern society also. This includes
all the modern rules and the regulations of the society which an individual can find in the
modern societies in the present times (Austin et. all, 2014).
Conclusion
From the above discussions, it can be said that both the British Empire as well as the
Ghanaian kingdom itself. Both the kingdoms are said to have different ways in which they
originated, developed and declined in the societies itself. However, it is the historical
background of the texts which made it essential for these two kingdoms to be considered
important for the historical significance.
