History refers to the subject which is used by the researchers and the historians to find
out information about various types of civilizations, its origins and decline itself. The
kingdoms and the dynasties also forms a part of this category itself. Thus is because the
subject of history helps the human beings with the information on various kingdoms, their
origins, development and what caused the kingdoms to decline. The British Empire and the
Ghanaian Kingdom are two of civilizations which have witnesses such developments in the
course of its history. This essay will discuss about the comparisons of the British Empire and
that of the Ghanaian Kingdom itself.
The purpose of this essay is to compare the two different kingdoms of British
Empire and that of the Ghanaian Kingdom itself.
One of the best way for the readers of the essay to compare the subject matter of the
comparison of the two kingdoms is to make a comparison of how the two different kingdoms
had first originated, how these kingdoms have developed during their period of rule and what
are the situations which had ultimately led to the decline of these kingdoms or the empires
themselves (Apter, 2015). This can be best be done by analysing the British Empire with that
of the Ghanaian kingdom itself (Sesay, 2014). In this case, it can be said that the British
Empire is said to have formed out at a time when the countries of England and that of
Scotland was said to have different kingdoms themselves. In addition to this, it can be said by
the readers themselves that the origin of the kingdom of the British Empire is said to be the
King of England who had allowed his explorers to the far and distant lands in search of and
establishing colonies in those areas themselves. These explorations led to the discovery of the
North Carolina region itself (Sesay, 2015). In addition to this, all these discoveries of the
colonies in the different parts of the world had led to the establishment of The First British
Empire itself. However, the Second British Empire was formed by the number of the
settlements which the British people had established after they conquered those countries

themselves. Similarly, the historians are of the opinion that the origin of the Ghanaian
Kingdom was formed as a result of various factors in the country like that of the impact of the
Muslim rulers in the country in addition to the presence of the 22 kings who, it is believed by
the historians to have control over the people of the country themselves. All these factors as
evidences had helped the readers to understand the various ways in which the British Empire
and that of the Ghanaian Kingdom started to originate during their times itself.
The second part discussion for the readers is the development of the kingdoms of the
British Empire as well as the Ghanaian kingdoms itself. The most important thing which can
be said about the British Empire for the readers themselves is the fact that most of the period
of their development took place in the forms of the country gaining new lands and territories
themselves as well as the establishment of colonies in the areas of the Pacific Ocean and in
the countries like that of India, China, and other countries themselves (Herbst, 2014).
Another important development of the British Empire can be considered to be of the abolition
of the slavery which was practised all over the world in addition to the Imperial Century of
the British Empire itself. When this is compared with that of the Ghanaian Kingdom itself, a
number of historians are of the opinion that just like in the case of the British Empire itself, it
can be said that the Ghanaian Kingdom had also developed at the time (Sesay, 2016). These
developments into the kingdom came into the form of the leaders of Islam who were said to
have a great influence among the people of the country itself. In addition to the impact of the
Muslim rulers themselves, other features which is said to have influenced the development of
the kingdom is the economy of the country itself. The Ghanaian kingdom had developed its
own economy which had helped the country to develop itself during their time of existence
(Herbst, 2014). These are the points which would help the readers to understand the reasons
for the development of the kingdoms of the British empire and that of the Ghanaian kingdom
itself.

The Third part which the readers are going to discuss is the fact of the decline of the
British Empire and that of the Ghanaian kingdom itself. The main reason which the historians
consider to be the decline for the British Empire is the damage which it suffered in the World
War II. It is said by the historians that although the Brits were victorious at the war, the lack
of resources and the abolition of colonies led the empire to its downfall. Moreover, the
pressures for independence by India and other countries also served to be another important
reason for the decline of the empire itself. In the same way the main cause for the decline of
the Ghanaian Kingdom is said to be because of the interference by the Almoravid dynasty of
the desert. Still, some historians are of the opinion that the Ghanaian Kingdom still exists as
the leader of the state is called “Malik” ad his subjects who attend his sessions regularly itself
(Apter, 2015).
Thus, from the above discussions, it can be concluded that both the British and the
Ghanaian kingdoms are an important part of the historical part of the world itself. It is these
kingdoms and their histories which interests the people, making them curious about the
events which had taken place during the times of the British Empire as well as the Ghanaian
kingdom itself. Here, lies the importance for both the kingdoms for the convenience of the
readers themselves.
