There are many kinds of interest and profits made a stakeholder involved in a project and
classification of project stakeholders is defined as Direct Stakeholders, Indirect Stakeholders,

3. Discuss interests and expectations of stakeholders.
Each stakeholder involved in a project has diverse thoughts and its very important for the other
stakeholder because it affects everyone. Each stakeholder has different interests to contribute or
not, has different outlooks as to the results of the project and has different descriptions about the

I was engaged as the manager of the construction department; our company was engaged in
taking the contract of highways, bridges, and other buildings (2). We took a contract with the
government to construct a bridge over the lake. Stakeholders in this contract were;
1. Government (internal and primary)
2. Suppliers
Interest and power
Government holds direct interests in the completion of the contract, they were the partner paying
the amount in the exchange of the services, they were in the role of direct customer
Suppliers were important as they had direct interest in sales of the quality material
Expectations
The expectation of the government was the completion of the bridge, with the effective quality,
employees were expecting the highest return for the services and these interests were different
but were linked to the success of the project (5).
The objectives and opportunities of engagement
This project was aimed to attain the completion of the bridge construction and to facilitate the
public transport in the city, and engagement planning of the project was aimed complete the
project in profitable manner.

Communication method
We used clear, verbal and written communication method, to fill the tender, government
announced filling of the tender we entered in the contract by paying the contract fee. We
received e-mail from the government for the confirmation and all the details were clearly
recorded
Were there any issues or risks
No direct risk was associated but the risk was from the construction process that was not
challenging to be fulfilled in time due to supplier’s issue and some government policies were
causing the issues (10).
How did you engage the stakeholder/s? Were you successful?
We planned effectively to involve the stakeholders; we used effective leadership style to guide
the employees to perform the given task in the given time. We planned the steps with strategy to
focus certain things for certain time and our planning was succeeded because wee involved every
stakeholder in the process.
What have you learned from that experience?
Our experience good from the contract taking the big contract required extra efforts of leadership
and planning and this was very important to learn for a manager and I learned effective strategy
implementation and controlling the task management and effective control in the challenging
situation.

I will use my communication learning to communicate with the stakeholder in the new contract
