I have chosen a medium sized hotel named North Point. Here I have been appointed
as a Human resource manager.
Question 2
My name is Elle Thomas. I am 23 years old lady. My religion is Christianity. I am
from United Kingdom. In the Hotel named North point has appointed me as the human
resource manager. I have been appointed for developing the employment relationship as well
as dealing with the intercultural challenges faced by the organization.
After joining in the office I have analysed that the employees in my organization is
dealing with the issues regarding cultural conflicts. As Australia follows the diversified
working culture, therefore, due to age differences among the employees, it has become very
difficult for them to adjust in the situation. Therefore, I have suggested to adopt the
participative leadership strategy in the organization. In order to promote my employees, I will
focus on getting the appraisals in place. Then I can plan for succession for promoting my
staffs. This is expected from my employees that they will maintain the proper corporate
culture in the workplace. By maintaining proper organizational ethics, they will be able to
develop the proper socio-cultural environment in the organization. If I talk about flexibility, I
believe that employees are the main resource of every organization. Therefore, if they will be
involved in the decision making process, this will be beneficial for my organization.
As I have already discussed that I want my employees to maintain proper corporate
culture in the organization. If the business ethics can be maintained by them this will be
helping me to achieve the goals and objectives. However, I have also analysed that due to
bullying and high staff turnover, the cultural conflicts has been created misunderstanding in
the organization.

In my organization most of the staffs belong from different foreign countries. They
have different religion and individual perspectives. It has been identified that the part-time
workers have faced bullying from the full-time workers. The female employee turnover has
increased as they have felt themselves as neglected. Therefore, in order to deal with the
situation, I can arrange a meeting. Here I will introduce the changing rosters for the
employees. By providing equal facilities I will try to understand their problems. In order to
avoid bullying I can introduce strict policies as well as by arranging the group events.
Question 3
As the organization named North Point is currently dealing with the disappointing
atmosphere in the workplace due to bullying, employee misunderstanding and employee
turnover. Therefore, in order to deal with the situation I need to introduce different
legislations in the organization such as Anti-age discrimination Act 2006, Disability
Discrimination Act 1995, racial discrimination Act 1975, Sex discrimination act 1975,
Human rights Act 1993 and equal opportunity Act 2010.
As I have already mentioned there are 55% male and 45 % female employees with
different religion work in my organization, therefore, due to the cultural differences various
issues have been occurred. By introducing Anti-age discrimination Act 2006, Disability
Discrimination Act 1995, racial discrimination Act 1975, Sex discrimination act 1975,
Human rights Act 1993 and equal opportunity Act 2010 I will be able to provide equal
facilities and respect to my employees. This will also help me in the case of avoiding bullying
and any type of discrimination in my company. Through a meeting, I will be introducing
these acts in my organization and will appoint a team, who will be monitoring if the
employees are properly following the rules or not.

If I talk about Hyatt hotel diversity, it can be said that it is one of the popular
organization in the hospitality industry, which can be considered as an important example of
diversity. The company always tries to give the values to the employees in the organization.
The organization tries to sustain and develop a culture in which individuals are being valued
and embraced for what they can do or who they are. In terms of origin, culture, race, thinking,
style and strength, the company tries to flourish their skills for bringing the best in
individuals. Among all the policies of the company I will chose to provide supportive
working environment as my policy. I believe, by adopting this policy I will be able to deal
with my situation.
It has been analysed by me that if I will focus on providing supportive working
environment policy in my workplace, it will be helping me to provide competitive job
opportunities to my employees. Through this process, I will be able to deal with the situation,
which has created women employee turnover in my organization. The company named Optus
has applied this strategy in the workplace (Optus.com.au, 2018).
Although diversity policies are very important in order to bring the organizational
development, in the case of lack of skills sometimes diversity policies influence the internal
conflict in the organization. If in the organization, the women are being given priority, this
increases the gender discrimination in the organization. Sometimes women take the wrong
advantages of these facilities.
I have analysed that in order to deal with the conflicts, I need to focus on changing the
internal environment of the company. If I will be able to provide proper training, this will
help me in developing good relationship with the employees.

By adopting the diversity policy in the organization, the women employees who have
left the job due to misunderstanding, they will be motivated if the women employees will be
empowered. The issue regarding the promotion can be reduced. On the other hand, by
adopting this strategy the gender discrimination will be actively reduced. As its example this
can be said that the company named Walmart has taken the initiative for providing supportive
working environment to the employees for improving organizational culture.
In the case of recruitment and selection, the diversity policy can effectively grab the attention
of the candidates. This will help North point to get loyal customers.
I have analysed that if I will provide supportive working environment as well as effective
training to the employees, this will motivate them towards their work.
Question 5
As I have already discussed that my organization is dealing with various types of
organizational conflicts among the employees, therefore due to this reason I can face
challenges in order to introduce the diversity policy in the organization. In order to manage
the conflicts, I will try to discuss with the employees to reach at the mutual understanding
point. I will provide different responsibilities to the employees to analyse how they deal in
the situation. On the other hand, by involving the employees in the decision making process, I
will gain the rust of the employees.
In the case of informal complaint the complaint is being done through discussion. On
the other hand, in the case of formal complaint, the formal complaint is being done through
letter or mail. In the case of a formal complaint, the managing authority is bound to take the
required action. As I have mentioned that one of the employees in my organization is deaf. In
this case the informal complaint cannot be practiced. On the other hand, the aged person in
my organization is not being able to participate in the formal complaint.

After analysing the situation of my employees, I have decided to do develop the
communication among the employees. This is the only process by which the old and new
employees will be able to get connected. In order to provide the training face to face group
training can be the effective way. As my responsibility is to maintain the healthy relationship
in r organization, therefore, this can be said that it will help the employees to interact each
other and emotional bonding will develop.
Question 7
It has been identified that the Holdworth has become popular in the business industry
for its award and recognition policies (Hwholdsworth.com.au, 2018.). It has introduced the
cost-effective recognition programs in the business industry for motivating the employees.
Incentive awards, milestone awards. On the other hand, free online shopping facilities are
also being provided by the organization. Service award and employee award are the most
popular award program adopted by the organization. In order to bring the award facilities in
my organization, I need to focus on improving the performance quality of my employees.
By developing strong reputation in the market, I will get the chance to increase my
organizational productivity. With the increasing rate of productivity the employees will be
motivated with rewards, which will help to avoid the internal conflicts. On the other hand,
with the increasing organizational reputation, large number of candidates will get interest
towards the organization. This will maintain the creativity in the company.

After analysing the entire organizational situation this can be said that in order to
bring the changes in the organization it needs to focus on improving the efficiency of the
