the leaner about the assessment process, and provides the learner with the opportunity to challenge the result
of the assessment and be reassessed if necessary.
Flexibility – assessment is flexible to the individual learner by; (1) reflecting the learner’s needs, (2) assessing competencies
held by the learner no matter how or where they have been acquired and, (3) the unit of competency and
associated assessment requirements, and the individual.
Validity – (1) requires that assessment against the unit/s of competency and the associated assessment requirements
covers the broad range of skills and knowledge, (2) assessment of knowledge and skills is integrated with their
practical application, (3) assessment to be based on evidence that demonstrates that a learner could
demonstrate these skills and knowledge in other similar situations and, (4) judgement of competence is based
on evidence of learner performance that is aligned to the unit/s of competency and associated assessment
requirements.
Reliability – evidence presented for assessment is consistently interpreted and assessment results are comparable
irrespective of the assessor conducting the assessment

2. Using the National Innovation and Science Agenda website <https://www.innovation.gov.au>, provide a brief
discussion on the following
Explain what is ‘The
Agenda’
The agenda forms the basis of The National Innovation and
Science Agenda which promotes smart ideas to create
business growth, local jobs and global success. The Agenda
includes initiatives worth $1.1 billion over four years and
covers 4 key pillars, i.e. culture and capital, collaboration,
talent and skills, and Government.
The agenda of innovation in the science agenda report for
Australian national government stands mostly on four pillars
as described below:
Taking the leap: the Australian government helps in banking
the entrepreneurs present in Australia for helping them with
open an app of the new sources of finance even if that means
embracing for the risk. The accepting of the innovative ideas
with the help of extended research on the public and market
interest Australian government is ready to help the Australian
entrepreneurs for setting up innovative ideas for their
organizations.
Working together: the Australian government wants to
increase the collaboration between the industry and the
researchers for finding solutions to the real world problems.
therefore the Australian government does not want the
Australian industries to think about the retrospective ideas
about bookish knowledge on business but implement the real
world problems within the organization create the jobs and
growth beyond imagination within the industries.
The best and the brightest: It is required that the government
under which organization is set up understands the talent of
the jobs that the country has to offer for the future. With
respect to that, it is required that the Australian organization
also acknowledges the agenda developed for the National
Innovation and Science, and develops world class talent to
attract jobs within the organization for the future.
Leading by example: the Australian government also has the
agenda to lead by example, that is the Australian government

Explain what is ‘The
Agenda’
The agenda forms the basis of The National Innovation and
Science Agenda which promotes smart ideas to create
business growth, local jobs and global success. The Agenda
includes initiatives worth $1.1 billion over four years and
covers 4 key pillars, i.e. culture and capital, collaboration,
talent and skills, and Government.
The agenda of innovation in the science agenda report for
Australian national government stands mostly on four pillars
as described below:
Taking the leap: the Australian government helps in banking

with the help of extended research on the public and market
interest Australian government is ready to help the Australian
entrepreneurs for setting up innovative ideas for their
organizations.
Leading by example: the Australian government also has the
agenda to lead by example, that is the Australian government
wants to embrace Innovation and agility in the way that
people normally address to a business organization to make
sure that this is followed through everywhere within the world.
Australia just wants to be the Pioneer in acknowledging the

3. Evaluate the coaching and training needs of those who will use the system and plan a learning and development
strategy based on the following questions:
a. Why do organizations
choose coaching as an
option for learning and
development strategy?
Managers find that their organization’s investment in learning
is far superior when leaders practice and demonstrate
coaching at every level. Nearly 25 percent of the individuals at
organizations where coaching is demonstrated also said that
their organization’s efforts to support learners in sustaining
their behavior change are highly effective, compared to only 5
percent from individuals at organizations where coaching is
not used. Organizations with a high level of coaching capability
are also twice as likely to be viewed as a strategic partner to
the business for learning.
b. Explain the GROW Model
i. Goal
The first step in the GROW coaching model is defining the goal
of the coaching trajectory. That includes long term (the central
theme of the trajectory) and short term (the goal for every
session).
ii. Reality
Step two of the GROW coaching model is becoming aware of
the actual situation the coach is in. The coaches’ role here is to
stimulate self-evaluation with his client, and to identify the
obstacles that have been holding the client back.
iii. Options
Step three of the GROW coaching model is to generate ideas
that can contribute to the solution of the problem. Try to start
a creative brainstorming process without censure or
conditionality. Generate solutions, and then structure it to
evaluate every option. If needed, you can also offer some
suggestions.
iv. Will
The fourth and last step of the GROW coaching model is the
choice of one option. This is converted into a concrete plan of
action. Then the coaches’ motivation to follow this plan is
maximized.

Developing training materials involves writing, creating

participants deviate from the topic, create a “parking lot” for
additional topics that come up. Arrange for a separate time to
take those up (at a break, or designated review period).
h. Communication of
training
How effectively your course is received depends largely on the
learning atmosphere you set up and model for your
participants. Support your participants by building an
atmosphere of trust. Model a positive attitude, and provide

6. Provide a discussion why is it important to monitor and review the innovation trial on the following basis:
a. The purpose of
evaluation of the
new innovation
Organizational innovation is not just about generating creative
business ideas. It is also about reviewing ideas in order to
identify those which are most likely to become successful
innovations. Unfortunately, many organizations make
mistakes in their idea review processes that result in rejecting
the most potentially innovative ideas in favor of less
innovative ones.
In some instances, the idea review process is a simple matter
of a manager reading through a batch of ideas and selecting
those she believes will work best for her firm. This is most
often the case in smaller firms run by a single owner and
manager.
b. Key evaluation criteria (defining the evaluation areas)
i. Effectiveness
(achieving desired
objectives)
Does the idea fulfill a practical need? Is it utilitarian? That is,
does it answer some particular problem or meet some
particular market demand. If it does, is it likely that the idea
can find a market niche? The practicality, usability, and
marketability of an idea are crucial.
ii. Efficiency

Is the prototype capable of being scaled? Can it be duplicated
with consistency, meet continuous standards, and be
replicated in such a way that it can be produced and produced
again without constantly being reinvented or adjusted?
iii. Appropriatene

Ideas that become antiquated before they even reach market
are ideas that should be selected with extreme caution.

Often ideas and prototypes are wonderful in their own right,
but outliers in the organizational strategy may not receive the
organizational support necessary to sustain the viability of the
effort. They will peter out. Great ideas, useable prototypes
must be integrated, or capable of being integrated with the
overall strategy of the organization.

This is most
often the case in smaller firms run by a single owner and
manager.
b. Key evaluation criteria (defining the evaluation areas)
i. Effectiveness

objectives)

7. Monitor and review the innovation trial in relation to its goals for fostering innovation on the following:
a. Why is it important
to monitor project
efficiency by time
tracking?
Successful monitoring delivers timely and relevant information
that allows you to track progress towards outcomes and make
adjustments to implementation arrangements as necessary.
Track progress in a deliberate and systematic manner at
regular intervals during implementation. Implementation
planning must define the data to be collected and the method
used for monitoring.
Factor in reviews as part of your planning process to assess
progress of implementation at critical milestones or in
response to specific issues. Reviews are a ‘snapshot’ in the life
of an initiative and tend to focus on operational issues,
effectiveness of governance and project management
structures, and may also include policy outcomes. Findings
and recommendations from reviews should be used to
improve implementation.
b. Why is it important
to monitor project
efficiency by budget
tracking?
Businesses often fail because of poor financial management or
a lack of planning. Often the business plan that was used to
help raise finance is put on a shelf to gather dust. When it
comes to your business' success, therefore, developing and
implementing sound financial and management systems is
vital. When reviewing your finances, you might want to
consider the following:
Cash flow - this is the balance of all of the money
flowing in and out of your business. Make sure that your
forecast is regularly reviewed and updated.
Working capital - have your requirements changed? If
so, explain the reasons for any movement. Compare
this to the industry norm. If necessary, take steps to
source additional capital.
Cost base - keep your costs under constant review.
Make sure that your costs are covered in your sale price
- but don't expect your customers to pay for any
business inefficiencies.
Borrowing - what is the position of any lines of credit or
loans? Are there more appropriate or cheaper forms of
finance you could use?
Growth - do you have plans in place to adapt your
financing to accommodate your business' changing
needs and growth?

informed decision-making about policy and next steps. The
discussion about resource allocation is made easier once a
genuine demand for an evaluation or review has been
generated and a sense of ownership and collaboration has
been fostered between the key participants. Review and
evaluation show where an initiative is heading and highlights
key achievements for celebration.
During planning, identify who will conduct the review or
evaluation and who will receive the findings. Governance
arrangements should take into consideration evaluation and
review activities and be designed so decision-makers have a
clear line of sight to the findings, in the same way as risk
information is managed. The credibility of an evaluation is
enhanced if all stakeholders can access the findings.
d. Discuss what the
review report should
achieved
Findings and recommendations must be tailored for specific
audiences, depending on how they are being applied for
different contexts. The findings need to be applied to the
decision-making process to ensure the original objective is
achieved. They will inform any corrective actions that are
required, including ending an initiative. Review and evaluation
information can contribute to the evidence base for further
policy development and provide justification for spending
priorities or savings. 5 Evaluations include outcome and
impact evidence: they give a more comprehensive indication
of performance measurement than the presentation of output
information collected by monitoring. Be strategic about the
focus of the evaluation. What is the most important thing to
evaluate across the whole initiative and what is the best
method? Identify critical checkpoints to conduct reviews and
evaluations as the initiative matures through implementation.
