Effective listening skills
Listening and speaking is the major element of the communication. The listening skill has been
considered as the necessary concept in making effective communication. A listening skill has

said that here the active listening has been applied.

TOPIC 4
Utilising the emotional intelligence in order to ensure the effective outcomes of the team
The concept of emotional intelligence enables to maintain the emotions in effective manner.
Undefined emotions works as a barrier in the growth process of the team (Ashkanasy and Daus,
2020). When all the employees effectively done the self-management then it leads to provide the
effective outcome of the team.
Activity:
Ways in which the positive emotional climate at the workplace can be promoted
Here are the ways that I will use in order top create the effective emotional climate at the
workplace:
Regular check-ins- The regular check-ins with my employees provides me the idea in relation of
the emotional fluctuations that are taking place between the employees. As many times, just
because of one employee's emotions all the other employees at the workplace also suffer. I will
make sure that each employee is sharing their emotional breakdown with me. So, I can manage
their emotions by making communication with them.
Developing a strong work culture- The work culture will consist of respecting the culture of
each employee. At the workplace there are large number of people work together and all of these
belongs from the different culture, therefore, it is important to respect the culture of each
individual (Zhang and Shi, 2017). I will create the strong work culture that will guide the
employees in relation of respecting each other.
Effective communication- The communication is the key of managing and expressing the
emotions. The effective communication strategy result in encouraging the positive emotional
environment at the workplace. I will interact with my employees and listen to their issues along
with giving the response.
Determining the emotional strengths for the team
The major elements of the emotional strengths I am looking for the team are:
Patience- The patience level in the individual will guide them to hear the problem of the team
members. And at the time of anger this element helps in maintaining the anger as well. This
element helps in the effective self-management of all the emotions that can work as a barrier in
managing interaction with team members.
