1. Explain how systems and procedures can support effective continuous improvement.
Your response should be approximately 100-150 words.
There is huge positive role of systems and procedures in continuous imporvment within the
organisations. Systems and procedures are work as guide that provides support to employees to
work effectively by adhering the standards. The impact of such standards has positive that resultant
into improvement of skills and personality along with bringing level of professionalism in work. The
beneficiary impact is ascertainedover the level of performance within an organisation because they
able to complete work on time with the aid of improved level of skills and knowledge. Now, Each and
everyone within an orgnaisationperfoms the work with full capabilitiesthat resultant into optimum
utilisation of existing resources. In future, this exercise must have positive contribution in direction of
continuous level of improvements within an organisation under different aspects such as employee
retention, team building, productivity, workplace atmosphere and in end last profitability (Boer and
et. al., 2017).
2. Explain how continuous improvement systems and processes relate to the following
business systems. Each response should be approximately 50-100 words.
a. Performance management.
Employees are the main asset of an organisation. The success and failure is also totally depnds upon
their perfomances. This would be the reason that if they perform well, success wil come within an
organisation. This depicts that performance management is important within an organisation for the
purpose of building the culture of continuos improvement. There are many other benefits assoicted
with the aspect of performance management that simultaneously aid in attaining continuos level of
imporvements such as identification of devitaions in current performances, removal of erros through
providence of effective strategies and improvement of skills and knowledge of employees. The
futuristic impact of all these upon an organisation is positive where they able to achive their desired
objectives along with creation of hard working culture (Mone, London and Mone, 2018).
b. Knowledge management.

Knowledge is the main aspect that allows the employees to perform their task and complete the
same in desired period of time. The high level of knowledge not only help in completion of work with
quality and before the time but also aid in brining innovation within an organisation. The futuristic
impact of this will bring contunuos level of improvements within an organisation where it not only
motivates the other to be creative but also bringing high evel of transformation in working
processes. This must aid in future about reducing the level of costing along with improving the level
of profit margins.
3. The Ishikawa fishbone diagram is a cause and effect diagram that provides a structured
way to think through possible causes of a problem.
For this problem: Mary is always arriving late to work, construct a fishbone diagram with a
minimum of four spines and four possible causes for each spine. You can refer to examples
and use a writeable template on the Plan2go website,

Submit the fishbone diagram as an appendix to this document or upload separately.

4. Continuous improvement plan
The Operations Manager at ABC Foods has identified an area of inefficiency that needs to be
improved and recommends using a PDCA continuous improvement approach.
ABC Food’s operations are geographically dispersed as follows:
 Head Office is located in France,
 Australian administrative team is located in Sydney, Australia,
 Manufacturing plant is located in Newcastle, Australia
The estimated annual travel cost to ensure business continuity is in excess of $30,000
The sustainability policy of ABC Foods states: ‘We will consider and minimise our
potential environmental impact in our daily business operations and processes to be
environmentally responsible’.
a. Research and propose two improvement options to reduce costs for travel, which are
environmentally sustainable. Your response should be approximately 100-150 words.
There is huge need for an organisation to work over reduction of transporation cost along with
selection of the mediums that will be enviornmtallysustianble (Boer and et. al., 2017). This is also
important to do because of the sustianbility policy they followed. The recommendations about the
two different medums that no only help to educe the cost but also environmentally sustainable in
nature is defind below with the aid of PDCA cycle;
Plan: The major focus will be provided over adoption of two aspects such as vedio conferencing and
online survillence.
Do: These both will help an organisation to reduce the cost along with providing high level of
environment safety (Silva, Medeiros and Vieira, 2017).
Check: It is ascertained that cost of using both methods will be lesser then the cost of train travel.
Also, these are environmentally sustianble.
Act: This is the step that includes implementation and usage of methods for the purpose of
performing functions.
b. Draft a process for the Operations Manager to use to evaluate the sustainability of
the options proposed. Your response should be approximately 100-150 words.

It is the duty upon operational manager that ensuring about the sustainability of existing and
proposed optionsin regular manner. This has huge level of importance within an organisation
because this will provide an opportubty to adhre the approaches that have maximum level of benefit
to an organisation (Gonzalez and Martins, 2016). The draft process which is needed to adhere by
the operations manager for ensuring the sustainability of proposesd options is presented below;

c. The PDCA cycle includes a check stage where the organisation is required to measure
the effectiveness of the proposed solutions put forward above to reduce travel
expenses in a pilot program.
Describe four digital systems/records/data sets management require to measure

The process of checking is impotant in PDCA cycle. This help determine that how the proposed
solution work and able to meet the desitable targets or not (Jagusiak-Kocik, 2017). The exercise of
check further aid in ascertaining deviation in performance that reduces the effectiveness level of
some particular option. This is important to do effectively as aid in decion making about final usageor
not within an organisation. There are many aspects that can be used for the pupose of checking an
option like digital systems, records and data sets. In the direction of measuring effectiveness of

All the information that were gained mentioned above needed to store and locate at
effective place by a management. The main reason behind the storage that this further aid in
comparing the future results with previous one along with taking improved level of
