DEVELOPMENT AND IMPLEMENTATIONS OF MARKETING STRATEGIES
ASSESSMENT TASK 1
QUESTION 1
Outline developing organizational values.
Evaluating the culture of the organization- the first step is to identify and benchmark the
current business culture by looking at the stand of the company in reflecting the its brand
Assessing the strategic business plan in perseverative of where the company will be in
5years
Identify the culture required in achieving the strategic business plan
Identify conspicuous values that originate from the above in regard to the company.
Choose the most appropriate and define them accordingly
Finally incorporate the values into the company’s operational activities
QUESTION 2
What is the purpose of a SWOT analysis in a strategic planning process?
The purpose behind a Strengths, Weaknesses, Opportunities, and Threats structure is to get
managers and key decision makers in a firm to consider everything that could possibly affect the
accomplishment of another undertaking. Failure to consider a key strength, weakness, threat or
opportunity could lead to poor business decisions
QUESTION 3
Discuss each component of a SWOT analysis.
Strengths
According to mindtools(2017), what determine the strengths -- what your business has going for
it -- and then continue to use these strengths. This could be your coffee shop's location at a major
Document Page

intersection or its location in a power center. If your carpet-cleaning company uses the latest
equipment; if the building that houses your salon is brand new; or if employee morale is high at
your burger joint -- these are also strengths. Of course, the quality of services and products
themselves are also powerful tools.
Weaknesses
Take an honest, hard look at what's not working, and figure out what you can control. This could
be your location on a little-traveled stretch of highway; having outdated equipment that often
breaks or being located in an old facility that has zero curb appeal. Additionally, if you have
unreliable, unmotivated staff, who exude negativity that carries over into your customers'
experience -- this is a huge weakness. Whatever makes this list, find a way to stop the negatives,
whether it means investing in new machinery, doing a remodel or creating a strategy to boost
morale.
Opportunities
Apply your strengths to positively exploit any untapped possibilities. If your nonprofit is
respected within the community, ask school teachers, families or healthcare patients who have
benefited from its efforts to contribute video or written testimonials that can be used in
marketing materials. The same can be done with virtually any industry, ranging from service to
retail. Harness an enthusiastic employee attitude by encouraging your employees to remember
regulars' names and orders, or to engage in brief conversations with their regulars while they wait
for their coffee or as they pay for their facial.

Threats
Some variables are beyond your control. You can't do a thing when a big-box grocer opens a
block away from your family-run market, or when coffee trends suddenly shift toward bottled,
ready-to-drink varieties, which renders your espresso machine less useful. You can examine,
however, how your marketing and social media options could increase your visibility or you
could ask your beverage distributor as to which products are starting to pick up steam elsewhere
so that you can stay abreast of the current popular rage. Developing strategies in advance, which
minimize the impact of industry changes, will help you defend against competing forces, if or
when that need arises
QUESTION 4
What is the purpose of a PESTLE analysis in a strategic planning process?
the purpose PESTLE analysis, which is a matrix with six areas political economic social
technological, legal and environmental factors, unites and compares all the critical actualities
important to settle on decisions and fabricate efficient strategies that will enable firm to achieve
its objectives and steer its employees on the right track.
QUESTION 5
List four examples of questions you may ask when conducting a PESTLE analysis?
what are the trading policies present in the business environment?
How much market share is affected by globalization?
What are the consumer taste and preferences?
how is technology importance in dominating the market?

competitive factors- such as the emergence of new companies and introduction of cheaper

importance of protecting intellectual property

brand is equally important. The name of your company and its logo are part of the
branding that sets your business apart. Elements of your brand, from your company name
to your logo can be subsumed and eroded. This can damage perceptions in the market of
your quality, products, and reputation.
Products: Unique investments that you’ve made developing technologies may be
compromised; only through proper patenting, etc. can you ensure that you control and

QUESTION 8
strategies to protect intellectual property
Patents are one of the most well-known forms of intellectual property protection and are
also notoriously hard to get. There are two main types of patents, utility patents and
design patents. Utility patents are issued to protect novel, useful inventions, while design
patents protect the unique appearance of a functional object, like the design of a soda
bottle.
Trademark registration is one of the most common, and straightforward, types of
intellectual property protection. Trademarks are usually registered for logos and
branding. You have the right to any mark you use to distinguish your company or product
the minute you start using it to market, as long as no one else had already claimed that
mark
QUESTION 9

strategic planning process?
There are international standards put in place that requires all organizations to adhere to them
especially when it comes to human life. It is essential since it shows an organization’s moral
respect, however, there are severe consequences that are put in place and may plunge a company
out of business if they don’t adhere.

To,
The management team,
Native Bush Spices Australia,
P.O.BOX 6452 Sydney NSW 2084.
Dear sir,
RE: SUMMARY OF MEETING HELD ON 23RD APRIL 2017
I am writing in summary of the meeting held on 23rd April 2017 with the management team
concerning approval of our organizational values and seek a go-ahead to creating a strategic
plan.
Organizations are driven by the quality of their mission, and value statement with a perspective
of their organizational values (Kopaneva and Sias 2015). This means that they must be efficient
in the perspective that they inspire and are energetic enough in terms of low periods that we can
turn back to. After comparing other major firms like coca cola which is one of the largest firms
in the world, we established that our organizational values, mission, and mission are a good steer
towards achieving our goals. This is due to their vision and the organizational values were

lacking in employee motivation and relating to the customers need efficiently (Kotabe and
Helsen2014).
We also came to an agreement after vigorous discussion between the corporate strategy which
defines our markets and our business operation, and competitive strategy which is the basis of
which we compete in our market. We all came to a decision to use both strategies which will
boost our performance indicators such as profit margins and brand awareness. and increase in
consumer margins (Bull et al 2016). There are also legislate codes that we have to follow, Food
Standards Australia New Zealand (FSANZ) is a statutory authority in the Australian Government
Health portfolio.it guides as in consumer policy and safety guide as well a labeling of our
products (Watson 2014).
We further discussed how cooperate venture could be essential to our firms, where investors and
firms invest in startup companies, however, it has its pros and cons. some of its advantages
Business expertise. Aside from the financial backing, obtaining venture capital financing can
provide a start-up or young business with a valuable source of guidance and consultation. This
can help with a variety of business decisions, including financial management and human
resource management. Making better decisions in these key areas can be vitally important as
your business grows.
Additional resources. In a number of critical areas, including legal, tax and personnel matters, a
VC firm can provide active support, all the more important at a key stage in the growth of a
young company. Faster growth and greater success are two potential key benefits.
Connections. Venture capitalists are typically well connected in the business community.
Tapping into these connections could have tremendous benefits for Native Bush

Disadvantages
Loss of control. The drawbacks associated with equity financing in general can be compounded
with venture capital financing. You could think of it as equity financing on steroids. With a large
injection of cash and professional and possibly aggressive investors, it is likely that your VC
partners will want to be involved. The size of their stake could determine how much say they
have in shaping your company’s direction.
Minority ownership status. Depending on the size of the VC firm’s stake in your company,
which could be more than 50%, you could lose management control. Essentially, you could be
giving up ownership of your own business. During the final touches of our meeting, the
management team decided it was appropriate to go ahead with the strategic plan development for
our company
Yours sincerely,
The Operation Manager.
