FORMWORK INSPECTION LIST
The checklist for the formwork normally includes the investigations that are conducted before
concreting, after removal of the formwork and even during concreting. The formwork of the
concrete possesses both safety and quality threats(Knaack & Kurama 2014). It is important to
note that if the formwork is not correct and the work is being done at some greater heights, safety
issues may come up.
A concrete formwork is considered as the temporary structure for the support of concrete during
its placement at the construction site so as to keep the concrete in the corrected position and
recommended shape as it undergoes hardening. The quality of the concrete is usually affected
when there is no proper alignment of the stuff and when the structure is not leak proof. The
proper storage of formwork of the concrete is normally needed for the cost economy of the entire
project. In order to ascertain these requirements, there is a need for a checklist for every stage of
the work on this component of the building(Tetta, Koutas, & Bournas 2015).

General Inspection
What is to be done in case there is non-compliance?
In the event that there is the identification of noncompliance, the work will be put on hold. The
checklist will be required to evaluate the degree of deviation in order to establish its cause as
well. When the cause of the variation from the standards is as a result of the poor workmanship,
all the workers will be laid off and supervisor expelled for incompetencies. Use of materials that
do not meet the standards as per the design is likely to interfere with the structural quality of the
building.

The policies of construction and building normally take safety as a priority and therefore it must
be served at all means(Hawileh et al. 2014). This implies that the work will be put on hold until
that time when the client will be able to meet the cost of the quality materials. The intentional
and deliberate attempts to avoid set standards for the construction may attract court charges.
However minor errors that occur during the process of construction can just be corrected as the
process continues. This must be done with the approval of the supervisor or chief engineer.
Records to be maintained during the process of construction
There are very important records that must be maintained at the site of the construction. They
include the following:
 Drawings: The records of the drawing will include the electrical drawing, architectural
drawing, finishing drawing, structural drawing and the other drawings for the plumbing
and sanitary
 Contract Agreement
 The progress and the time charts that is commonly known as the CPM charts.
 The books for the work orders
 Diary of the works
 Passing records of the works
 The records of the test results
 The register of the cement
 The records of the deviation of orders and changes alongside other amendments
 The books for the measurements
 The daily wages sheets and the labor attendance records
