Before you start this assessment
In order to complete the (3) tasks successfully you must first complete the relevant topics in the
workbook.
You will need to select a context for your assessment. This context may be an identified project for
your current organisation or a previous organisation. Alternately, you may select a project identified
from the Plan2Go scenario.

Project – Research-based task
To complete this part of the assessment, you will be required to complete all tasks below.
Once completed you will need to submit this assessment to your assessor for marking.
Task 1: Research-based task on identifying quality requirements
This task is a written task to demonstrate your ability in identifying quality requirements. Based on
your selected project, respond to the following questions.
1. Review Activity 1.1 to determine quality objectives and standards with input from
stakeholders, relevant to your identified project. As a guide, your response should be
approximately 100-150 words.
Ans- It has been identified that for the powerhouse museum project there are certain relevant
standards that had been set by the manager which are based upon the requirements of local
council planning as per the requirements of Australian standards in order to complete the project
in pre-determined and efficient manner. Apart from this, another requirement related to suppliers
has been set in context of designing that includes fit-out activities. With the help of these
standards, the objectives of the project have been grabbed which involves designs that confirms
the required specifications. In context of stakeholders, various sponsors will be considered who
shares the investment that are required for the project completion. The identified objectives for
the powerhouse museum project is to upgrade core electrical infrastructure all across the level 1
and 2 along with installation of wireless infrastructure for the benefits of workforce. With proper
reviewing and tested all the standards, the project will be accepted.
2. Review Activity 1.2 and document, as part of the quality management plan, quality metrics
for the project and product output for your identified project. As a guide, your response

Ans- The powerhouse museum project has required certain amount of focusing towards the
heritage standards. This involves the ensurement of building that should not be damaged by any
other required modifications in the infrastructure. In order to meet the quality aspect, wireless
technology has been used along with electrification in infrastructure working. With the help of
appropriate auditing methods and testings, the project team will able to submitted the design
layout within the local council which requires the planning of the project as per the standards of
Australia. The quality layout has been categorised and divided into certain quality matrices which
includes development of application submitted to local council which consists of dates in the form
of work breakdown structure which effectively explains the details and time duration about the
task. After submission of application and proper analysis, non-conformance of the design
submitted according to which certain modifications are highly required for the effective completion

of the project. After getting the feedback from the local council, the project team worked upon the
designing part and resubmit the project development applications with the involvement of
necessary modifications. The rectifications will be submitted by the rectification team allotted for
the project within 7-14 days of getting local council feedback.

Ans- It has been identified with the project powerhouse museum, that there are various challenges
faced while establishing wireless technologies such as physical object interference RF interference,
incorrect antenna configuration, hardware architecture or might be security measures such as
WLAN security. In order to overcome from these specified techniques will be used such as Control
charts which includes which enables the project manager to identify processes that has changed
over time. With the comparison of data presented, conclusions have been made in unpredictable
manner. Next tool is the cause and effect diagram which shows reasons for low quality output by
identifying working conditions, raw materials required, management, technology, machines
required as well as worker’s requirements. Another is petro chart which helps the manager to
identify frequency of defects along with their cumulative impacts over the powerhouse museum

ways that has been adopted in order to distribute, discuss and support requirements of the
powerhouse museum project with the help of project team and varied stakeholders are different
types of stakeholders who performs their specific tasks in relevant manner. The stakeholders such
as local council has been approached by conducting formal meetings through face to face
conversation who appropriately discuss required design specifications. Another stakeholder are

Ans- The appropriate quality management requires certain amount of quality planning which
includes meeting with varied stakeholders to brainstorm about the expectation of quality for the
project along with making an appropriate quality matrix. By validating the acceptability of
attributes or features related to the project, the quality of the requirements about the wireless
infrastructure into the museum have been fulfilled. With the inclusion of proper planning the
quality assurance has been done with the help of documenting the overall business case by
reviewing current policies, rules and regulations along with various procedures that greatly
supports the quality of the powerhouse museum project. With the help of appropriately

project, process of verification by the security auditor will be implemented to find out how
secure is the wireless network of the museum and even executed in accountable manner
without any kind of losses or not. The audit aspects consist of certain specifications which
consists of areas related to non-compliance adjustments along with their corrective measures.
During the audit about the project, important questions has been answered such as the
applicable quality standards, the ways through which quality has been measured, who is

manner. By hiring experienced supervisor, quality will be ensured. All work will be completed as
per the ISO standard. ISSO 9001 will be implemented and it will be made sure by project

anytime. Due to changes, project managers have to face problems in completing project in a
successful manner. There may be some reasons that can create variance in quality metrics of
this project of renovating museum by wireless technology. changes in project scope, lack of
resources, climate change, wrongly activity duration estimation and improper identification
of scheduled activities may affect overall quality of this project. In this context, it can be said
that having back up plan such as: having additional financial resources and different
techniques of completing project, can protect project manager against all these problems or
factors of quality metrics problems. Skilled employees will be hired; those work will be done
that are important or dependent on proper climate or weather. By prioritising tasks and
making use of Gantt chart as well as work breakdown, quality can be improved.

Ans: For successful project implementation, it is important for project managers to follow all
stages of project lifecycle such as: initiation, planning, execution, monitoring and controlling.
Controlling and monitoring are main stages because by performing these stages, project
manager can know its current situation of project and accordingly can make changes. If project
manager finds some changes requirement at this stage, then by promoting team working and
implementation of new strategies can help him out in continuing project as per the agreed
changes. For this project of renovation of museum by wireless technology, project manager will

require making use of only upgraded technology for better implementation on agreed changes.
