1. Introduction
ABC Pvt. Ltd. is a private business organization that provides consultancy services and
software solutions to a wide range of clients from small and medium sized organizations to large
business organizations. The company has an official website but it only has limited features and
meant for information display only. The company now wants to update the website and add more
functions that will benefit the business of the company.
2. Project Scoping Report
i. Project Scope
The scope of the project includes the following.
 Modification of the company website
 Addition of new features in the website
 Upgradation of the complete website

Some of possible issues and constraints are as follows.
 The website update may bring about some unnecessary issues like chances of
external attacks, breach of security of the internal server of company and others.
 The website update may become very complicated and the existing staffs may not
be able to control the functionalities of the website.
 The company may face problems in the near future for system and server
maintenance.
iv. Assumptions
The following assumptions have been made in the project.
 The decided budget is sufficient for the project.
 The projected timeline of 3 months is sufficient for the project.
 This project will fulfill the company’s requirement for a business portal.
 The business portal will have all the features required by the company without
any technical issues or problems.

who will then review the project progress on weekly basis. The Chief Website Developer will be
responsible for the website update and can appoint his team of developers and testers to complete
all the activities.
viii. Relationship with Other Projects
This project will help the company to handle future projects much more efficiently as the
new business portal will allow the company to automate data processing, handling and
management. Moreover, client involvement with the future projects will also increase with the
development of the online business portal.

features of the website, development of the business portal, content update and others. The final
product must not have any bugs and any security loopholes that may compromise the personal
information of the clients.
x. Impact of Relevant Legislation
For this project, the most relevant legislation is the Canadian Information and
Technology Law that provides guidelines on IT implementation and maintenance. During
planning of the project, the relevant legislations must be considered so that the company does not
get associated with any legal complications. Furthermore, the company must also ensure all the
software purchased are licensed versions and purchased from non-piracy websites / online
vendors.

xi. Measurement of Degree of Success
Degree of success is generally measured by the extent of benefits received from a project.
In this project, the degree of success will be measured by the quality of the new business portal
and the benefits received from the business portal for the business operations of the company.
3. Conclusion and Recommendations
Finally, it can be concluded that the company can go ahead with the plan for upgradation
of the website within the estimated budget but needs to ensure that the benefits will be achieved
within a very short time. The customers will be able to open their own profiles in the business
portal and conduct business through the portal only.
Some recommendations to the company for project are as follows.
 The company must ensure the entire project is completed within the specified
time period and within the specified budget.
 The company must promote the business portal among the customers.
 The company must ensure the online security of the business portal for preventing
compromise of the personal information of the clients.
