Business report
Introduction
It is the right of each and every one to be safe at work. Safety must be the basic
element that must be ensured in order to attract people to work. Workers as well as the
volunteers must be covered with all the safety features and measures (Board 2019). The
management of the business organizations must ensure the presence of an expert team that
will be able to handle the safety measures in the most professional manner. The safe and
sound operations of the business is key to the success of the business in the most sustainable
manner. The maintenance of all the laws and the safety steps is therefore highly important for
the management (Eldejany 2018). The report here provides the safety measures and the work
related to the different kinds of the organizational measures against the prescribed risks in a
particular organization.
Organization
The selected organization or the workplace is the ABC constructions private limited
based in Sydney. The company is ten years old and has been growing on a steady pace that
has helped them to gain the momentum of the organization in the most enhanced manner. The
company has been involved in a number of large construction projects in the last few years
which has helped them to gain a major stronghold in the construction sector of Australia
(Eldejany 2018). However, there has been problems since the inception of the new WHS
policies which mandates the organization to develop new rules and policies to ensure a much
better safety arrangement for the workers of the organization.
Hazards identified
The major hazards that has been identified by the management of ABC Constructions
private limited are as follows;
a. Working at heights

b. Movable objects
c. Handling of the material and manual tools
d. Hazards from the collapsing of buildings and trenches
e. Huge noise
Risk from the hazards
There are different kinds of risks from the above mentioned hazards. Some of them
are as follows;
a. Working at heights- Working at heights can be a serious problem for most of the
workers. There are high chances of falling from these heights which m ay lead to
fatality and major internal body damages. This kind of the hazards can have a
significant impact on the reputation and WHS policies of the company.
b. Movable objects- The objects involved in the construction industry are generally
heavy objects with huge payloads (Eldejany 2019). Any casual approach from the part
of the organization can have a significant impact on the workers safety. Any mishap
from the source of movable objects can be fatal for the workers.
c. Handling of the material and manual tools- The tools and the manual works must be
done in a proper manner so that it is possible for them to work in the most efficient
manner (Eldejany 2019). The handling of the materials without any kind of
experience or proper training can lead to mishaps.
d. Hazards from the collapsing of buildings and trenches- The intentional collapsing of
buildings and trenches can also pose serious threat to the people. The collapse of the
buildings and the trenches can make a negative impact of the health and wellbeing of
the workers in the workplace (Eldejany 2018).
e. Huge noise- The management of ABC Constructions Private Limited has defined the
problems with the large amount of noise involved during the process of construction.

The absence of any significant reduction measures can be problematic for the
organization.
WHS Policies
The construction industry is considered to be one of the most high risk industries and
therefore the management of the companies involved in this particular sector must involve
the best policies to ensure the absence of any kind of such problems or issues (Eldejany
2019). Some of the WHS policies that is needed to be implemented by ABC constructions
private limited are as follows;
a. Maintenance of the most basic rules like wearing of helmets, wearing of safety belts,
wearing head gears and many more as such
b. Proper maintenance of the different machines and tools used in the industry
c. Providing proper training to all the employees
d. Providing formal, structured and complex arrangements that can best used for the
construction industry
Safety information
The safety information is basically the solutions that has been implemented by the
management of ABC Constructions private limited in order to ensure business success. The
major steps that the management of the company has implemented includes;
a. The creation of the provision and the maintenance of the work environment without
the risks to health and safety
b. The proper and safe usage of the handling and storage of plant and structures
c. Providing training and health and safety ideas to the people working under the
company
d. Providing detailed facilities that can help in the welfare of the workers

Location, Date and Time of the information
The WHS inspection will be based on visits in two of the specific project sites that are
being developed by ABC Constructions Private Limited. The first one will be the Sydney
Heights in Southern Cross Drive and the other one will be the Elegant Sydney in M5 East
Motorway. The visit will be on 10th of March, 2020 in between 12 noon to 2 PM. The visit
will be a surprise visit and no information regarding the same will be shared with anyone
concerned with the company.
Floor Plan
Furniture, Equipment, exits and Hazards
The furniture will be the basic ones like the tables and some chairs for the seating of
the project managers and the engineers. The visit will be focusing on the arrangement of the
furniture, their location and the entry and exit points. The entry and exit points will involve
strict checking as it will verify on whether they are capable of ensuring smooth entry and exit
for a large number of people at a specific period during the times of emergency.

Hazard Report
Information on Hazards and risk associated
The different hazards and their information are as follows;
a. Injury from wrongly placed furniture- The absence of a proper planning by the
managers and the engineers involved in the project designing can be a major issue
during the construction process. The tables, chairs placed in entry and exit points can
be the cause of serious injury to the workers which is a major risk.
b. Small entry and exit points- The small entry and exit points in between the server
room and the kitchen will be a matter of great concern as the small exit points can
lead to injury or more large risk during emergency.
c. Small Passage in between manager’s Chambers- The small passage to the manager’s
room is a risk too. In times of emergency the small passage can be a cause of fatality.
d. Server room just beside the pantry and the kitchen- The WHS team has identified a
number of different issues and safety risks while inspecting the location of the server
room and the kitchen room. The location of the two rooms just beside each other can
lead to a huge fire or some other fatal risks.
e. Risk from gas leakages from machines- The team has identified some small leakages
in some of the machines being used in the construction. The gas leaks can be thus
quite hazardous for the workers.
Procedure for storing and maintaining WHS
The procedure for the storage and the maintenance of the different records of Health
and Safety are as follows;
a. Recording training and induction of the workers in the industry
b. Creation of work health and safety committees

c. Equipment records including the different inspections as well as maintenance and
repairs of the machine
d. Keeping the record of the different kinds of the first aid and the medical records
e. Keeping the copies if the different kinds of the incident reports
Implementation and action of the hazard report
The proper implementation and action against the different hazards can be the only
way to reduce the risk from the hazards that has been identified (Eldejany 2019). The
management of an organization can act smartly and provide different kinds of policies that
can be utilised properly to ensure success. One of the major issues that has been identified in
the inspection process was the risk associated with the lifting process of the heavy machinery
and beams. The team has proposed the project management team of ABC constructions to
change the process with immediate effect and follow a set of steps to make the process safer.
This includes the likes of;
a. Use of a better hoist
b. Increase the number of cranes to 4 from the present 2
c. Changing the setting of the tower crane
d. Use of a power shovel
e. Use of more specific measures to reduce the variations of floor levels
f. Use of more floodlights in some specified positions of the construction
Reducing the risk of the hazards
The reduction of the hazards includes the likes of the different kinds of the policies
and processes that comes under the WHS process. This are as follows;
a. Application of a preventive design
b. Performance and fall of a hazard risk assessment
