Breaking One Task Down Into Bite-Size Pieces
The lesson many of us never learn is that one large task can always be more easily accomplished in bite-size
pieces over a long period of time. If you are given a project to complete in the next two weeks, the right time to get
started is that very day. When you first receive a project, you should take out a calendar and find a way to break it
into four or more evenly spaced parts. Don't just mark the final deadline date. Give yourself mini-deadline dates per
segment and meet them, whatever the cost. Failing to meet one of your own mini-deadlines should be regarded as
a failure to meet the final deadline
Plan Ahead
Meeting deadlines is a lot like playing a good game of Chess. Good chess players plan five to ten moves ahead.
Bad chess players only concentrate on the current move. If you always focus on events several days down the
road, you'll be better equipped to handle any potential crises that pop up. It also allows you to set aside a day or
two before the final deadline to polish your project and add finishing touches. Don't just focus on today - focus on
the whole week.

In today’s world, technology is the one thing which is the solution to all the problems. By
making an effective and efficient use of technology, I can easily create a balance
between my personal and professional commitments. Ongoing developments in the
technology has helped many of the people in managing their work-life balance. The first
thing which I do is to prioritize my commitments, both personal and professional. After
that, with the help of electronic spreadsheets, I prepare a to-do-list and a daily task list
which I am supposed to do. Apart from the spreadsheets there are various applications
on my smart phone which helps me in managing my tasks. For example, I can easily and
effectively manage my emails on my phone which result in saving a lot of time.
Computer based electronic spreadsheets are used for preparing schedules, which
contains a list of the daily tasks related to both personal and professional life.
Another way through which I can adjust with both of my commitments is the video
conferencing tool. It is the best technology as it enables me to address my work issues
when I am busy meeting my personal commitments. I can do this video call and interact
with my team mates anytime and from anywhere. This helps me to maintain a balance
between my personal and professional priorities and also make life easier and sorted.
However, it is very important to use and manage the technology effectively, otherwise it
could bring disadvantages to the employees. While using it, one should have proper and

Maintain good work-life balance?
In order to maintain a healthy work life, I prioritise my commitments and responsibilities
properly. By doing so, I am able to allocate sufficient amount of time to my personal as well as
professional works. After prioritising, I set some working hours for each and every task which I
am supposed to do and make sure that the same has been completed within the provided
time. This helps me to save time for my personal things. Along with this proper management
of finance and workplace also helps in marinating a healthy work life balance. As an
employee, I prefer doing following things which guided me in making a balance between my
work life and personal life. These are:
Focusing on my strengths that what I am capable to do and outsourcing others.
In other words, if I am not capable enough to perform a particular task, I
outsourced that and saves time.
