Apparel Brands Pty Ltd is an old company which was established in 1901. They deal with the
supply of footwear and clothes for the people. Lately, the company has been facing various
issues. To add to this there is a decrease in their profit margin too. The aim of the report is to
identify the issues and provide suggestion for their settlement. The report also lays stress upon
the importance of team work in a company and how a team meeting should be conducted. The
efficient functioning of the team leads to the efficient functioning of the company (Marks, 2013).
Overview of Apparel Brands Pty Ltd
The company Apparel Brands Pty Ltd is a very old company of 1901, which is expert in the
distribution of clothing and footwear. The review of the workplace information about this
company includes the first and foremost fact stating that they receive orders from the retailers
directly and transfer them back to the retailers after following their instructions and the adequate
customization. They desire to create an e commerce brand name and provide a diversified range
of goods and services to their valued customers. With regard to the information about the
workplace, they possess an online settlement in the market. They create apparels with regard to
the latest fashions for all kinds of people. the workplace of this company includes the Marketing
Manager, Information Technology Manager, Finance Manager and the Customer Service
Specialist. Together these people create an appropriate atmosphere for the staff to work together
and provide the best results (Subic & Aleksandar, 2012).
There includes coordination and cooperation between the staff and the Management team. There
is a systematic approach in the continuation of the work procedure. The decision making for the
company involves the opinion of all the important staff. There is balance between the satisfaction
of the customers and the profit margin. Communication skills hold a very important position in
the management sector (Bopage & Sharma, 2014). Thus, communication skills are very much
developed in this sphere and it promotes the efficient and smooth functioning of the business.
The duties undertaken by the people are carried out by them in the most efficient way leaving no
scope for complaining. The workplace ensures that the product quality is maintained in the most
adequate manner. There is effective determination of pricing and the best use of funds to supply

to the customers to reach their satiety value. There is also appropriate training and management
in the company (Conley & Acker, 2011).
Individual Performance Plan Scenario
Under the Individual Performance Plan of Task 1, there are three major actions undertaken. The
Marketing Manager is required to update all the procedures with regard to the customer service
matters. The second action involves the communication and transmission of these matters to the
staff and the stakeholders. The third action involves the final checking of all the mechanisms
adopted in the above process. There are specific timelines under which the tasks have to be
fulfilled and in the appropriate manner. All the duties of the manager have to be fulfilled as per
the action and the performance plan. The resources are mainly from the internet since it
comprises of unending information. The responsibilities and duties of the Information
Technology Manager is also provided under this plan. The outcomes of these officers would be
different but the responsibilities possessed by them are similar in nature (Caniato, Caridi, Castelli
& Golini, 2011). There are specific review dates for their accomplishment of their duties. This
date is preferably at the end of every working month. The more the dependency rate, the better is
their quality of work. There are possibilities of disputes but they are resolved in the most
efficient manner, when they arise (Chugan & Rawani, 2012).
Preparation for Team Meeting
After a consultation with the team and the assessor, the appropriate span for the determination of
the teamwork in the meeting of the team is expected to be reasonable. At the same time, there
should not be any hasty decision or a hurried time taken to accomplish the works of the team
during the team meeting. The appropriate time taken for this purpose should be within a fortnight
to a month (Colovic, 2011). The time span would depend upon the ingredients of the meeting
and the course of work. There can be an extension of the above state time in case of a sufficient
cause.
Goals: Achieved and Left to be achieved
Apparel Company has been working over a long period of time to satisfy all of its customers.
The major goals achieved by it includes having a grip upon the online market and attracting more

customers, creating of a strong consumer base and having a strong reputation for its supply of
products. However, it has failed to aware and provide training with regard to targeted market of
customers. It has also failed to implement the referral sales.
Issues Encountered
While working out upon the action plan of the company, an issue which seemed to have arisen
and needs to be overcome and discussed at the meeting of the company, is the absence of
effective leadership and communication skills. This expertise is highly lacking between the
executive team and the staff of the company. Resolving this issue would lead to better outcomes
and increased profits. Proper communication and leadership skills need to developed as early as
possible for the benefit of the company.
Resolution of Team Issues
The possible process for the resolution of the team issue is the appropriate training and creation
of awareness among the staff and the Executive team with regard to the leadership and
communication skills. The appropriate mode of communication should be adopted to deal with
the diversified culture of the various staff who are working together. The issues should be given
key importance so that they can be resolved in the earliest possible manner.
Development of Meeting Agenda
In the preparation of the agenda in the team meeting, it is necessary that all the problems with
regard to above issue is discussed and resolved. A specific time and date should be planned and
fixed so that the attendance of all the members is guaranteed. This meeting should provide an
opportunity to all the members so that they can speak and discuss the personal problems in
relation to the leadership and communication expertise in their work. The meeting postulates
should be shared clearly between the participants and the assessor.
Preparation for taking Notes
Adequate preparation must be taken by the participants and the assessor of the team meeting to
note down issues or further challenges which could be brought about by the other members

Encouragement to Team Members
While giving a feedback to the members of the team about their work, every work of every
member should be taken into account. For every step undertaken by them and the benefits which
were a result of such step should award. This would encourage the workers to give their best to
the company and the best benefits could be reaped from them.
Questions by Team Members
While the meeting is conducted amongst all the members of the team, it needs to be interactive.
All the members should be given an opportunity to question and resolve the queries cropping in
their minds. In fact, the members should be encouraged more to do this. This would increase
their involvement with the company and they would want better for it.
Role of Manager to resolve issues
A prominent role in the team meeting would be of the Management Manager. He should ensure
that all the affairs with regard to the issues at the meeting are resolved in the best possible way.
There should be management of disputes between the members of the company the heated-up
conversations must be avoided. Everything needs to be resolved in a calm, composed and an
organized way. The meeting should be made interactive by such manager, for all the participants
in the meeting.

In the identification of the performance problems, it is seen that there is lack of proper training
and awareness among the members. Also, there remains a problem of lack of communication
skills between the members. To solve this, there should adequate communication and providing
of appropriate training facilities for all the company members.

The issue of lack of training can be resolved with the provision of appropriate training. There
should be monitoring upon the working of such solution. There must be regulation upon the
higher authorities to prevent the indiscriminate use of their powers.
Recording of Issues
At the end, all the unresolved issues, problems, questions should be noted and put emphasis upon
in the meetings. This is because, their solution is needed at the earliest. Those issues which
would be discussed at a later stage should also be jotted down in a systematic manner so that
they could be resolved later with ease.

After a close perusal of the above facts of the report, it can be concluded that, for the smooth and
efficient working of a company, it is essential that it possesses a proper team. To add to this, the
team should have proper coordination and participation of all members in the meetings and in its
working. The issues identified for Apparel Brands must be resolved in the ways recommend for
its efficient functioning.
