TASK 1
Definition of the concept of personal and professional development.
The term personal and professional development refers to a process that an individual as
well as any corporate person adopts in himself in order to enhance his personal as well as
professional skills for his development and success (Ashcroft, Blatti and Jaramillo, 2020). Such
kind of development assists individual in achieving personal as well as his professional goals or
objectives having a target of specific time.
Description and discussion of the value of short term goals identifying at least 3 personal
examples.
Short term goals refers to attainment of such goal that can be achieved in near future.
Such goals acts as a bridge to walk in order to get long term goals (Brick, 2020). Short term
goals are generally made for or less then a period of 12 months.
The three personal examples of short term goals are mentioned below:
1. To join a good coaching institute in order to enhance personality skills.
2. To jot down an essay containing one-two pages daily on different topics.
3. To read newspaper on daily basis and to enhance existing knowledge.

Medium term goals are those goals which are made for the period of more than one year
but less then period of long term goals. Such kind of goals are meant to fulfil basic purpose
related to long term achievement (Hammermeister and et. al., 2020). The time period for
medium term goals ranges form one to three years that is from 12 months to 36 months.
The three personal examples for medium term goals are below:
1. To achieve a degree for graduation form recognised university.
2. To buy a house in my own name.
3. To save money for foreign trip at my dream place.
