Introduction
Understanding why people work is referring to different types of roles and
responsibilities which is carried by all categories of workers within organization. Motivation
is defined as group of activities which is applied by higher authorities within organization for
enhancing the motivation level of their employees. The main purpose of using various
motivational theories by top level management is to provide best quality product and service
to their new and previous clients in long term. With help of effective theories organization are
also able to maintain good relationship with their clients for long time (Farida, Rusdarti and
Yusuf, 2021). Due to applying of various theories the vision, mission and objectives of
organization is effectively sustained in long term. This report will cover explanation of
motivation, different factors which are responsible for motivating the employees to work. It
also covers positive and negative factors employee experience as a result of their job roles,
strategies to cope with negative factors employees.
What does Motivation Mean?
Motivation level basically comes under two categories first one is intrinsic motivation
and other one is extrinsic motivation. Intrinsic motivation is defined as a set of actions which
is utilized by top level management of company for enhancing their performance level. But in
aspect of extrinsic motivation it is defined as those activities which is used by firm for
accomplishing their roles and responsibilities successfully according to the time.
Maslow's motivation theory -
According to this theory management are highly focused on fulfilling the basic
requirements of their workers for run their whole functions smoothly. In this theory basically
five steps are applied which are explained below -
Psychological needs – It refer to those factors which is important for workers for
fulfilling their basic needs in time regularly. It includes water, food, air, shelter and
so on. Due to fulfilling these type of basic needs effectively with help of providing
decent salary and financial support positive relationship between employee and
employer are easily sustained in long term.
Safety needs – It refer to those factors which is essential for maintaining the safety
of employee job and health in long term. It includes utilization of proper
infrastructure with effective ventilation system for employees in their work place

area. Due to using this type of infrastructure the overall productivity and performance
of their employees are effectively increased within short duration. With help of this
facility employees are able to do their work with full interest and passion for long
time.
Love and belongings – It is concerned with those elements which is essential for
keeping positive relationship between employer and employee. It includes family,
friends, followers and others. Due to considering these factors it is mandatory for
organization that they must provide eco-friendly culture to their employees (Feng,
2021). Because due to maintaining friendly atmosphere workers easily share their
difficulties with the top level management in any time.
Self-actualization – In this phase employees and organization both analyses their
own problems, ability and potentiality. Therefore, for improving their problems
employees are carried challenging task in the form of feedback and case study. Due
to handling various challenging task the skills and abilities of the employees are
effectively developed. Challenging task also support the employees for handling
difficult problems easily which is essential for enhance the profit margin of company
at maximum level.
Self-esteem – It basically refer to the respect of individual worker who are doing job
within organization. Therefore, this respect is important for each and every employee
for doing their job role in attractive and systematic manner. Due to doing their job
role effectively organization are able to sustain their goodwill and brand image
between customers in long term. Therefore, it is important for firm that they always
encourage their employees in their work in the form of keeping good attitude and
behavior.
The various factors which motivate employees to work
Salary: It is basically referring to the wage or salary which is facilitated by top level
management to their all categories of workers. Due to facilitating effective and decent wage
to them, their basic requirements are easily fulfilled in time on regular basis. When
employees are getting effective packages in the form of salary then definitely they are
satisfied in their job for long duration. In this way workers always committed towards their
job roles and responsibilities for long time.

Promotion: It is defined as occurring changes in the position and prestige of workers in
particular time period. It means the position of the employees are changed according to their
current work performance. But due to change in their post responsibilities and roles of the
employees are highly increased. Due to increasing their responsibilities stress and workload
are increased in the minds of each and every employee within short duration. Therefore, it is
mandatory for higher authority in organization that they must always keep flexibility in their
targets and task which is provided to their employees. Which leads to enhance the company
positive result for long time.
Work Environment: It is considered with positive atmosphere or work culture which is
maintained by higher authority within organization (Hansen, E., Nordén, H. and Ohlsson,
2021). Due to maintaining positive and friendly culture whole departmental activities of
company are run in smooth manner. With help of positive culture company are also able to
work efficiency and productivity of their employees at maximum level. That means effective
performance is highly important for enhancing profit margin of firm and and also for
delivering quality products and services to customers in time.
The positive factors employees experience as a result of
their job roles
Meaningfulness It means providing meaningful and reliable data by higher
authority to lower level workers. Due to providing valuable data to employees, they
are able develop effective solutions for all kinds of complicated problems within short
duration. With help of receiving proper guidance or information from the higher
authorities, the job role and responsibilities are clearly described to the workers in
long term.
Development of skills – It is basically referring to the internal skills of the employees
which is developed or polished during the time of receiving advanced training. The
skills which are utilized by every worker for accomplishing the various task are
communication skills and problem solving ability. With help of these skills employees
are able to finish their task in attractive and systematic way.
Trust in leadership – It means keeping belief or faith on senior level officers during
the time of conducting any task or project. For maintaining this belief in long term it
is essential for company that they must facilitate advanced training and proper

instructions to their employees in workplace. With help of effective training and
leadership style communication between all categories of workers are easily
developed. Due to this the functions of whole organization are easily run in smooth
manner for long duration.
The negative factors employees experience as a result of their
job roles
Challenges in task – It means facilitating complicated and challenging assignment to
all workers from the higher authority. The real fact is that due to facilitating difficult
task to employees they struggle lot in their life for increasing their career growth. In
the phase of struggling chances are highly increased for damaging relationships
between employee and employer or employer and customer effectively. Due to facing
high stress in the work employees are not able to fulfilling their responsibilities in
time.
Low wage – It is directly connected with the in hand wage and other financial support
of employees which is provided by the organization (Khojah and Thomas, 2021). Due
to providing low income to employees the overall productivity of the firm is easily
decreased at maximum level. Therefore, without good package employees are not
able to do their job role with full passion and interest.
Poor employee management – It is considered with those type of employee or the
team who did not have any type of experience, potentiality and ability in job role. Due
to utilizing these type of employee or team chances are highly increased for reducing
the performance and goodwill of organization at higher rate. In effective workers are
also responsible for enhancing conflict between company and customer regarding the
service and product.
Strategies to cope with negative factors employees
experience as a result of their job roles
Providing chance for expressing views – Here top level management are providing
chance to their workers for expressing their views. It is highly important for
sustaining the goodwill and productivity of firm in long term. Because with help of
the suggestion of their worker’s company are able to introduce unique product which

in market effectively.
Facilitating flexibility in targets It means due to facilitating flexibility to
employees in their work, timing etc. they are able to multiple works in same time.

rate from their minds. In this way the reputation of company is easily sustained in
long term.

From the evaluation of above information, it is concluded motivation theory plays the
important role for increasing the performance of company at higher rate. Motivation is one of
the factor which is highly beneficial for maintaining good communication and relation
between employee and employer or employee and consumer for long time. With help of good
coordination top level management are able to identify the real problems of the customers
