communication. By adopting all of them WALMART can
easily communicate with it’s all employees and workers.
Such forms are also capable to established a healthy
working environment in the business organization.
WALMART is chosen internal methods of
communication in order to communicate within
business organisation. A company's communications
effectiveness is the single most important driver of
employee commitment. When information flows freely
employees are more engaged and aware of
organizational activities and management decisions that
affect their jobs.
Upward Communication- Upward communication is the
process of information flowing from the lower levels of
a hierarchy to the upper levels. This type
of communication is becoming more popular in
organizations as traditional forms of communication are
becoming less popular. The more traditional organization
types such as a hierarchy, places people into separate
ranks.
Upward communication helps employees to express
their requirements, ideas, and feelings.
Downward Communication – It refers with the
flow of information from higher levels of
management to subordinate individuals working within
an organization. Business managers often need to be
very skilled at downward communication in order to
properly motivate the staff working under them at
their company. In the process of downward
communication, messages of the top executive reach to
the lower levels moving through the chain of hierarchy.
Downward communication can be of written or oral.
Written forms of downward communication are
manuals, handbook, notices, electronic news displays
etc. whereas, face-to-face conversation, telephonic
conversations, speeches, meetings etc. are the oral
media of downward communication
The grapevine is useful as a supplement to formal channels of
communication. It often travels more quickly than other
channels and is usually more direct. The grapevine is present
within all levels of staff. It exists because of a natural desire to
know things and brings a sense of belonging to employees and
managerial staff alike. It can create corporate identity and build
teamwork. Although the grapevine can wreak havoc with
misinformation. it can also be beneficial. In most cases,
grapevine information holds at least a kernel of truth.
