Motivation is defining state of mind that drives person to work in particular way to achieve the desired goals
in effective manner. It pushes people to work with high level of commitment and focus.
Maslow hierarchical needs:
Physiological needs: it is consisting of air, sleep, water and clothing.
Safety: It is known as protection from threat and other danger such as secure employment and property.
Social: The need for association, affiliation and friendship.
Self-esteem needs: The need of respect and recognition.
Self-actualization needs: The opportunity for personal development and it is known as highest level need of
human being.
Thus, this theory states that leader need to understand about the level of team member and to find out ways to
keep them satisfied so that their general needs are fulfilled.
