INTRODUCTION
Management is the method through which company manage to operate different activities
and perform their action in efficient manner. This is consider as essentials element which is
required at all the level of organisation(Blatstein and et., al., 2020). Along with this, operation
management is also crucial and it also require to manage and control all the logistic and supply
chain process within the company. The present report is based upon Tesco which deals in retail
services and the head office of the company is in UK. Main purpose of this report is to
understand different theories and approaches in the management. Beside this, operation
approaches are been used to examine and explore different activities effectively.
TASK 2
P2 Evaluation of role of leaders and functions of in different situational context
Managers and leaders are those who make effective decision and motivate employees to
achieve desire aims and objective in the well define manner. There are different kind of
techniques and method which assist manager as and leaders to function in all kind of situations.
Both the department have define set of roles and have unique way to perform better and also
improve the skills to as to deliver high quality product and service. Management of Tesco have
to make use of theories effectively as to with proper skills and knowledge.
Situation I
Product launch: As per this situation company create or develop new product in order to attract
large number of customer . In the context of Tesco company is offering new product item such as
electrical and household product and both manager and leaders have duty to manage and control
the activities to make successful launch.
Role of a Leader: As per the first situation leader have the responsibility to manage and
control the organisation work to improve work efficiently. In this transformational leadership
style is used to leaders of Tesco as this adoption will aid workers of the company to expand and
explore the business to the larger extent. Further company have leaders and prime duty to
empower the workforce and make sure to provide all the important resource to the employees
and this will provide timely services to final user. The transformational leaders style help
individual and firm for better future and with the proper insight to regarding change in the
environment and organisational activities.

Functions of a Manager: The manager plays an vital role in the organisation to as they
have responsibility to control and track all the activities within and outside the firm in the well
define manner(Higgins and et., al., 2020). In the context of Tesco , during new product launch
manager must provide proper skill and training as the achieve desire aims and objectives

Conflict management: As per the situation every organisation have conflict as which is natural
and it usually occur because of misunderstanding and or lack of information. Hence this is
important for Tesco management to have proper flow of information to achieve desire aims and

to reduce conflict as to manage stability in the organisation. As for the manager this is essentials
to have proper system through which all the function of company take place. Apart from this,
manager have responsibility to take feedback which reduces conflict and provide healthy
environment in the company.

This theory ensure that leaders must have different set of skills and capacities as to
manage and control different factor which present in the organisation. This kind of leadership
style help in collaborating and building effective system which help in managing and controlling

manager must develop proper structure in which all the business work should be undertaken to
promote and take effective measure for improve the efficiency of workforce and also this system
provide better revenue for longer time duration. Such kind of leadership is adopted by those
management who have various department to manager and control the effectiveness. Tesco have
