Asda, it is a retail brand which was founded by Peter and Fred Asquith in 1949. The Headquarter
of Asda is in Leeds, UK. Goal of Asda is to provide best value retailer which exceeds customer
needs. The brand has its strong growth strategy which includes expanding reach online and
physically. Asda is also focusing on bringing innovation and expansion into its products ranges so
that they can gain competitive edge in market. The brand mainly offers their product at low cost
which attracts more and more customer towards the brand. Asda also promotes their brand by
using different promotional channels such as television, media outlets and newspaper. The
competitors of Asda are John Lewis Partnership, Marks and Spencer, Next and many others.

workplace transformation within organisation. The reason behind choosing this topic is that it
due to crisis, companies are shifting their way of working and adopting new ways of working
in order to survive in the competitive environment. Workplace transformation helps in

employed. By conducting this investigation, the two main perspective of researcher will get

helps in gaining high market share and customer base in the business market. In simple words,
transforming the workplace is referred as a method that helps the UK retail industry in improving

poor performance and productivity. It is the responsibility of Asda to implement right and effective

face at the time of Covid-19 situation as they needs to ensure about the health of their employees in
a better manner in order to gain sustainability. Flexible working arrangements is also considered as
a challenge that the company face at the time of pandemic as employees are working from home
they need to ensure that they are getting flexible working situations so that they work with less
tension and anxiety.

RESEARCH METHODOLOGY
It is the systematic procedure to identify, analyses and interpret information. Research
methodology helps the researcher to attain aim and objective in valuable manner. This section also
helps in knowing the type of information needed in the investigation as per the chosen topic.
Research methodology also helps in maintain the validity and reliability of the research in sound
manner (Sileyew, 2019). This section is further divided into various sub parts which helps in
analysing and collecting information. These components are discussed below with the help of
Saunders research onion framework:
Research philosophy: Research philosophy is divided into two parts which are positivism
and interpretivism. In the current research, researcher will be selecting positivism philosophy. The
main advantage to use this is it will have gathered and use quantitative information in the research
to get accurate result. The data which will be collecting will also help in showing the current trend
and pattern of the research topic.
Research approach: It is a planned process which aids in testing the theories and hypothesis with
the chosen data type. It is classified into two kinds which are deductive and inductive approach. In
the present research, investigator will be choosing deductive approach. The main advantage to use
this is it will evaluate existing theories by the numerical information. This will also facilitate in
showing the relationship between two variables (Leedy and Ormrod, 2019).

collection method. In this research both primary and secondary data will be used. Primary data is
the first hand information which gathers fresh data and secondary data is the second hand
information. The source to collect primary data is questionnaire and the source to gather secondary
information are books, journal, magazine, online site and many more (Liamputtong, 2019).
Data analysis: Data analysis is the process of inspecting and measuring raw data in order to
gain useful information. This technique helps in achieving aim and objective in valuable manner
frequency distribution and thematic analysis. In the present investigation, researcher will be
selecting frequency distribution method as it will help in analysis numerical information in quite
easier manner.
Sampling: Probability and non-probability are the method for taking out sample from large
population. In the current research, investigator will be selecting probability sampling. The reason
for this is it will help in selecting respondent in equal and fair manner. The sample size for the
current investigation is 30 employees for ASDA (Roberts, Dowell and Nie, 2019).
