Introduction
Buddhism is one of the largest religion in the world with more than 500 million followers
who follow all the teachings of Buddha. More than 7 percent people in the world follow
Buddhism religion and are known as Buddhists. Many times it is refereed as offshoot of
Hinduism. There are many ways in which Buddhism and Hinduism are similar like both the
religion believe in karmas, next life but there are sill many ways they differ from each other.
Main body
There are various ways in which Buddhism differs from Hinduism, such as:
Hinduism believes in cast system because according to Hinduism cast system was created
by god whereas Buddhism says that cast system was man made, due to which it should be
eliminated.
Hinduism says that Atman is an infinite core which cannot be destroyed but can be taken
by other bodies whereas Buddhism says that there is no other entity in human body other
than their mind and body.
Hinduism believes in god and says that it is an everlasting but powerful entity whereas
Buddhism deny this fact and says that there is no powerful everlasting entity like god.
According to Buddhism it is insanity to believe in god.
Buddhism does not believe in any kind of rituals, they says that people who do all kinds
of rituals are quite low whereas Hinduism believes in efficiency of rituals especially
vedic rituals. They believe that these rituals are quite efficient and important.
Buddhism believes that role of compassion and mindfulness plays a vital role in
liberation where Hinduism does not think that they are essential for liberation.
Conclusion
From the above comparison it is has been summarised that both Buddhism and Hinduism
differ in many ways. Practise and believes of Buddhism is quite different from believes of
Hinduism.
