Response to question 1:
I have been the leader of a high performing team in my organization. I feel that our team
was a high performing one because we all were working for some common goals which were
reinforced and aligned in every sessions that was taken by me. I used to take a lot of sessions
such that I could ensure that everyone knows what they are doing, and such that everyone knew
about the team objectives that were striving for. The main aim of the session and meetings was to
make sure that everyone gets an opportunity to express their ideas and feelings. Moreover our
team understood the importance of communication and therefore we had both the channels of
communication formal and informal. This also helped us in creating a good work environment
for all the team members. Moreover the members were informed about their weaknesses
separately and not in front of everyone such that they do not feel embarrassed in front of
everyone and this helped the team in developing trust upon each other.
Response to question 2:
From my past experience, the best way to build a high performing team requires the
leader to be able to deal with conflicts, because conflicts is a common phenomenon in teams.
The leader should encourage development of employees, the leader should prioritize
communication such that the employees can know their responsibilities and effectively
collaborate with each other. The leader needs to set feasible goals so that the employees feel
motivated to achieve the same. Moreover the leader needs establish clear goals, and ensures that
all the employees undertake accountability for their work. a true leader should try to solve all
roadblocks that prevents the team from achieving its goals and timely feedback also needs to be

provided to the employees. Therefore I try to carry out these activities such that I can build a
high performing team.
