Reflection on trust
Trust is one of the essential factors that help to boost the performance of the employees in
the workplace (Luhmann, 2018). When I was appointed as a team leader, I analyzed that
importance of trust that assisted in bringing improvisation in the performance. Initially, I faced
the challenge of creating the trust among the team members and because of this the productivity
level was also hampered. The team was not performing well and achieving the set targets and the
reason behind this was only “lack of trust among the team members”. At that time I realized the
actual importance of trust that should be there among the team members or with the top
management. The trust issue was there in the team because the employees were new and they
have not interacted with each other. The major issue that was analyzed by me was the
understanding level of the employees.
So, to reduce this challenge I decided to start the concept of fun activity on every
Saturday. This concept worked and as a team leader I attained my set target in relation to
creating trust among the team members. By introducing the concept of fun activity, the team
members interacted with each other and the understanding was build. This directly helped in
resolving the trust issue present among the members of the team and now the members
coordinate with each other and try to give their best towards the assigned activities. The overall
team productivity ratio and performance of the team members has been enhanced.
