Introduction
Managing performance plays an essential role within the business as it helps to
become more successful organisation and standout against their competitors in the market.
It fundamentally contains evaluating, reporting as well as managing progress with an intent
to enhance performance, both at a personal level, together with business level.
Organisational performance encompasses the analysation of business performance against
its goals and aspirations. Or, it can be comprehended by understanding the difference
between the actual outputs or results compared with desired outputs (Bradley, 2019). It
mainly focuses on three areas- shareholder value, market performance as well as financial
performance. This report is based upon a case study BUNI which is a domestic travel agent
in Bolton. It is small business company with classical HR department. Now, this business
wants to expand their business for which they are required with tools and techniques of HR
management. This report also outlines the role of employee well-being in enhancing
performance and motivation. At the end, the external factors have been analysed to know
the impact on their business.
What tools and techniques will help improve
organisational performance?
Utilising performance management tools allows organisations to overcome a set of
challenges of employees. As it is identified that BUNI as a travel agent analysed the need of
expansion of business due to which they need some tools and techniques to manage
performance of their workforce. Such tools and techniques designed to produce the process
more effective and easier. The discussion on such tools and techniques are mentioned
below:
Key performance indicators and metrics: It is a tool that helps in giving method to
measure the performance of business as how well business, projects, unit or
workforce are performing in context of business objectives and goals (Brown, 2020).
They indulge to limit the complexity of business performance to a small figure of key
indicators with a motive to make performance more digestible and understandable.
When KPI are good, it clearly liked the organisational tactics and plans where they
give answers to key organisational performance queries.
Real-time feedback: Accurate and fair feedback is complicated to higher
performance. It is observed that performance rate can be increased on higher rate if
employee gets accurate and fair feedback on their performance. Actual-time reviews
and feedback has been related with a range of benefits, containing improved
recruitment, increased retention, increased abilities to adopt changes such as
expansion of business of BUNI as well as better performance. With the help of
performance management software, review can be indulged by managers and peers
at any period of time.
Gauge the sentiment of the workforce with pulse surveys: An optimal employee is
the one that sense engagement with the business's core values and missions. They
have faith that the job they are doing is worthy and significantly contributing to the

which can be neglected when talking about well-functioning and healthy personnels or
employees. Most of the times, employees are usually promoted to push themselves to

those of normal workers yearly. While, employees who manages stress in a better
way are less likely to take leaves and experience low burnouts (Kim, Suleman and
Hopper, 2020). Ultimately, when workforce well-being is increased, then they are
more concentrated on their jobs while raising their productivity level.
Improved employee morale: At the times of Covid-19, it is commonly found that
employees feel low morale in their work which affects their performance and

delivers low output for the business. By announcing employee well-being steps such
as fitness competition and mental health workshops among teams or departments,
BUNI Travel Agent can enhance their employee's morale.
Improve the brand reputation: By demonstrating that employers are ready to take
time to create employee's engagement and invest money to enhance their
livelihoods, then it helps in creating stand out position in the eyes of company that
their employees have emphasized the health of employees. BUNI Company can also
create and improve their brand name and image by paying more attention towards
workforce health and well-being.
Well-being programs can aid in improving employee recruitment and retention: It
is also found that a good employee well-being program will also help in influencing
candidates to apply for the job while improving employees retention. There are
several factors that go into the decision to grab a job offer (Kouatli, 2019). It aids
when employees indulge a good salary and a high benefits and perks plan.
Conclusion
On the basis of above report, it is concluded that BUNI is a small travel agency in UK.
Itr mainly aims to fulfil the travel needs and produce different tourism packages for the
tourist places throughout the world. It is seen the this business is suffering from its
profitability due to the reduced employee's motivation and advent of technologies. So, it
order to overcome this issue, there has been an analysation of external factors done in the
report. Many tool and techniques outlined so that overall performance of business can be
enhanced. Employee's well-being value is cleared so that employees can perform well and
their motivation will remain high.

Political factors: These factors covers trade restrictions, bureaucracy, tariffs, tax
policies, political conditions and many more (Tsuchiya-Ito, Slaug and Ishibashi,
2019). As the BUNI is UK based company, it is found the political condition is quite
stable in the nation which helps in creating opportunities for expanding business.
While, BREXIT has created some trade restrictions that impact the business of
tourism in negative terms.

essential for them to be digitalised in their working process which offers safety and
