Before making a project management plan, there are several aspects which should be considered
by the managers so as to executing the research programme in effective manner. These aspects
are given as below:
ï‚· Cost: For carrying out the research in an effective manner, sufficient amount of funds are
required therefore, management of Burberry have duty to provide required funds to the
project managers so that any difficulty not be faced by them during the project. For
arranging these funds they can take support from investors, stakeholders or financial
institutions. In order to completing the expansion process, management have estimated an
amount of 500000 pounds in which 200000 will be spend on implementation of
technology, 150000 for acquiring land and remaining will be invested for recruiting new
employees. Apart from that, researcher has estimated the amount of 50000 pounds so as
to carrying out the research and determining the factors which can impact the expansion
of firm in London (Kodama, 2016).
ï‚· Scope: This aspect posses a wide impact on the cost, resource, activities of project,
quality along with satisfaction of customers. Scope management helps the project
managers in determining the way in which desired project will be executed or managed.
In the context of present research, through expanding their business functions in London,
Burberry can gain advantage of enhancing their market share so that it can be said that
scope of project is very high in the perspective of company. Whereas, through this
research researcher will easily identify the impact of MNCs on the employment in UK.
ï‚· Resources: It includes the manner through which physical, human and financial
resources will be allocated handled or managed by the organization. This aspect also
guide the management to utilize the available resource in systematic manner so that any
difficulty not be faced by them in execution of activities. Physical resources for this
project are plant and machinery, land and building etc. whereas, human resources are
essential because without their efforts organisation can't expand their business activities
in London and financial resources can be considered as the cost of project (Morris and
Geraldi, 2011). Therefore, management should allocate these resources and utilise them
in optimal manner so that project activities would be completed in effective manner.
Apart from that, resources for researcher are funds and effective teammates so that
research programme should be conducted easily.
Document Page
ï‚· Time: It is related with duration of project in which project is going to be complete. This
duration should be decided before starting the project. Management should consider this
aspect in important because it guides them to execute the project as per the preset
deadline of the project. 3 Months of time duration is estimated by the project managers of
Burberry and 45 days are estimated by the researcher for conducting the research
programme (Nicholas and Steyn, 2017).
ï‚· Quality: In it, several methods or technologies should be adopted by the project
managers so that finished goods are made as per the demand of customers. Management
of Burberry should consider this aspect so that quality of offerings can be improved and
large number of customers get attracted towards their offerings. It will helps them in
enhancing their sales figures and customer base because customer prefers those products
which are good in quality. Apart from that, researcher should use qualitative method for
performing the research so that better results will be received at the end of research.
ï‚· Communication: In gaining success or growth communication plays a very important
role because when the project manager will convey all informations of project among the
teammates clearly then it will helpful for them in completion of project in timely manner.
So that, management of Burberry should formulate effective communication structure so
as to conveying the possible risks to their stakeholders of expansion. This will
automatically leads the organisation towards enhancing the productivity or profitability.
Apart from that, researcher should also use various communication channels like
messaging, e-mails so as to gaining valid or reliable informations from their selected
respondents and teammates (Popp, 2015).
ï‚· Risk: It is uncertain in nature and occurs in any aspect therefore, project managers of
Burberry should consider various factors like cost of product, economical, political, needs
of customers etc. so that any risk wouldn't be faced in future. For overcoming these risks,
management should formulate effective strategies and plans. When management will
measure the potential risks and take corrective steps for overcoming them then these risk
will be converted into advantages which will be beneficial for the organisation in their
expansion. Apart from that, for researcher risk should be unavailability of funds, lack of
support of team members etc. that can restrict them in completing research programme.

P3 Work breakdown structure and a Gantt chart to provide time frames and stages
Management of organization can use this tools for dividing the complex activities in
smaller parts and monitoring the performance of their employees. Therefore, it can be said that
Gantt chart and WBS are used as a tool so as to executing the projects in effective manner.
Work break down structure- It is mainly concerned with break-down the projects or its
activities into smaller components or units so that project would be completed in given time-
frame. It is an effective tool which manages the whole team work into small sections. WBS is
mainly connected with estimation of cost and budgeting of cost. It also provide ideas to the
project managers to making schedule for the project so that it should be controlled or monitored
in effective manner (Pryke and Smyth, 2012). In addition, WBS follows the principle of
decomposition of work from high level into low level so that project activities should be
executed effectively. This technique also helps the managers in analysing those activities which
are overlooked or taking huge time duration in completion so that these activities can be
categorize in smaller parts so as to carrying out the project in given time-frame.

Gantt chart- This method is used for analysing the activities which should be conducted
in the project. Gantt chart is a horizontal bar chart which is formed for managing the project
activities through making a proper schedule for it. This chart was invented by Henry Gantt with a
purpose of managing complex activities or projects. In it, each activity of project are scheduled
and displayed on the chart. This is generally used for understanding the each aspect of project so
that findings should be interpreted in effective manner. In this chart, start and end dates of project
activities are noted down for evaluating the project activities in appropriate manner. This chart is
also used for measuring the current status of each project activities so that time duration will be
estimated by the project manager (Thite, Wilkinson and Shah, 2012).

TASK 2
P4 Small-scale research by applying qualitative and quantitative research methods
Research is an important method in which investigator have to collect reliable data and
information so that valid conclusion will be made for a specific topic. In addition to this, it is a
broad concept in which researcher have to gather new and fresh information so as to gaining
better outcomes at the end of research. Furthermore, this is a systematic way of explaining
gathered informations to the organisation. Research should be conducted by using two methods
which are given as under:
Qualitative method: This is an important method of research that helps the researcher in
evaluating the issues. Basically it is based on theoretical frameworks that are highly related with
the researcher's experience and knowledge (Ullah and Lai, 2013). By using this method,
researcher can easily identify the possible solutions for the topic. This method mainly categorise
in two kinds like exploratory and unstructured. With the help of this method, researcher can
easily gain theoretical understanding about the topic of research. For gathering data of this kind,
investigator can take support from various sources like personal interviews, text analysis, case
studies etc.
Quantitative method: It is also an effective method of research in which researcher also
gather valid or reliable information so as to forming valid conclusion. Basically, it consists of
larger population in which researcher have to collected data from them. In addition to this, for
collecting data in this method researcher can use survey, questionnaire, online surveys etc. In
this, data is collected in numerical form and it interpreted in well mannered form so that any
difficulty wouldn't be faced in understanding (Vance and Paik, 2015). For interpreting the data in
well manner researcher can use graph and tables. By taking views and opinions from large
number of people investigator can determine for variation in the obtained information from
respondent. Through this variation, investigator can determine whether the collected data is
accurate or not.
Data collection: This is an important process in which researcher have to collect reliable
information from available sources so that better outcomes can be provided to the managers of
firm. This method basically divided in two parts which are given as below:

already available at various sources like websites, journals, magazines etc. Data which is
collected from this kind is less reliable and valid because of which it is less used for completing
the research (Zellweger, 2017).
In the reference of this project, investigator have used both kind of research methods like
qualitative or quantitative so as to gaining better results in upcoming time. For this project,
researcher have decided to use questionnaire as a primary data collection. In which, they will
asked some questions from the stakeholders who may be customers, employees or investors of
firm and their opinion will be considered as the view of entire population. Total 30 respondents
