MAIN BODY
Does bureaucracy empower of dis- empower the individual with reference to Weber bureaucracy
theory
The bureaucracy is defined as the structure or the set of rules which are made in order to
control the working of the company or any of the organization. It is very essential for the
company to have a bureaucratic environment as this will assist proper and disciplined work
within the company or the business organization (Beetham, 2018). The bureaucracy is very
necessary for the company and other organization to manage as if this will not be present then
this have an impact over the working efficiency of the company. Thus, for this Max Weber has
initiated a theory named the Max Weber Bureaucracy theory and this theory states that the
bureaucracy is an administrative system which is majorly designed to accomplish the activities
and the goals of business in positive and effective manner. In the continuation of the study
Weber found that within the company there are three different types of power which the people
can use that is the traditional, rational- legal or bureaucratic and the charismatic power. But out
of the three Weber majorly focused over the bureaucratic power as this is much better and
effective power as compared to other two powers.
The major feature of this theory is that this theory empowers the individual with
responsibility as when there is bureaucracy in the company then there is more discipline and
following of the rules and regulation in the company. This following of the rules and regulations
within the company is very essential as this will guide the employees that whether they are
working in the same direction or not and if not then what are the methods through which they
can work in right direction. Thus, this will empower the individual to take proper decision in
order to make the working of the company in effective and efficient manner. This is due to the
reason that if the employees will work in bureaucratic working environment then they will be
able to manage the working in more effective and efficient manner and this will result in more
better attainment of the goals and objectives of the business.
In addition to this another major feature of this theory of bureaucracy is that in general
the administrative class of the business that is the top management of the company (Gregory,
2017). This is majorly because of the reason that if the top management will not work with
bureaucratic power then they will not be able to manage the working of the company to a great

extent. In the similar manner the company will not be able to manage the working in effective
and proper way in order to complete the objectives and goal of the business to a great extent.
Another major feature of this theory is that the company must focus over the hierarchy of the
company (Byrkjeflot, 2018). This is necessary because of the reason that if the company will not
follow the hierarchy in order to manage the working and assign the roles and responsibilities
then the company will not be able to manage the working in effective manner. This is majorly
because of the reason that top management only decides for all the work and the allocation of the
work and if they will not work in proper and effective manner then this will have not good
working of the company.
Also, with the help of this theory Weber stated that this theory is beneficial for the
employees in getting direction of the work. This is majorly because of the reason that when the
company will have the bureaucratic approach then this will assist the company in making better
rules and regulation for the company. Thus, this will assist the employees in getting the
directions with the help of these rules and regulation and policies and this will guide the
employees in better working of the company. In addition to this another major benefit of this
theory is that this empowers the employees and the employees get the work which they are
capable of doing. This means that the employee get that work in which the employees are expert
and this assist the company in increasing the working environment of the company and the
efficiency of the employees as well. This increases the efficiency of the employees as the
employees are getting the work in which the employees are expert and because of this the
company is able to manage the working in more creative and good manner.
In the end it can be said that the theory of Weber performed a lot well and this helped the
company in managing the performance of the company to a great extent. Different companies
whether be it governmental, public or private all uses this theory as this theory is helpful for the
company in managing all the working and process of working in effective manner. Thus, this
always result in better working and increase in the profitability and the efficiency of the business.
Though with this popularity of the theory there were some of the drawbacks of this theory as
well. The major drawback is there is lack of impersonality as all the decisions are taken by the
top management or the administrative class only. Thus, for this there is less personal interaction
and this has a great impact over the working of the company as this will demotivate the
employees and the employees will not work up to their fullest potential.

How does migration affects the sending country
Migration is defined as the movement of people from one country to another with the
intention of earning a livelihood in other country either permanently or temporarily. The
migration can take place because of many different types of reason like the interest if human, not
having proper facilities in domestic country, more growth opportunity in foreign or more
developed countries, education and many other related purposes. The migration is both positive
and negative as it is positive for the country in which the person is going but it is negative for the
country from which the person is going that is domestic country (Migration and its effects,
2020). This is majorly because of the reason that when the person leaves the country then the
talent of the country has gone to another country. There are many different types of effects which
the migration creates over the sending country that is domestic country. These effects are
discussed in the following points connected below-
The first and foremost effect of the migration over the sending country is that the
population of the country decreases. The major reason underneath this fact is that when a person
leaves the country then they are not the resident of the country rather they are counted in the
population of the country in which they go. For instance, if a person is going from India to
Australia then the person will not be a part of India rather they will be part of Australia only as
they are earning for that country.
In addition to this another major effect over the sending country is that there is brain
drain for the country when a person goes in another country. This is pertaining to the fact that
when a person leaves the country then their talent goes to the other country and this is a huge
loss for the domestic country. This is majorly due to the reason that what the person was doing
within the domestic country will now be doing in the country in which they have migrated. For
instance, if a person was giving its services in Bangladesh and now they have migrated to France
then they will not be working anymore for Bangladesh rather all their services will be for France
only.
Another major effect of the migration over the sending country is that the productivity
and growth of the country stops or slows down if more people migrate from the country. This is
majorly because of the reason that when the more of the people goes away from the country then
this has a great impact over the domestic growth of the country (Positive and negative effects of
migration, 2020). This is due to the reason that when the person working in domestic country

goes out of the country then the productivity of domestic country will degrade. The underlying
fact to this is that what the person was doing in the domestic country will be done in the country
to which the person is migrating. Thus, this will add to the national income and GDP of the
country in which the person has migrated from the domestic country (Bradatan, 2016).
On addition to this another major effect over the sending country is that the
unemployment will increase in the sending country. This is majorly because of the reason that
when the person will leave the job or the work they are doing in the domestic country then the
place of that person will get vacant. If in case there will not be any good person for the job then
this will be vacant. Thus, this will increase in the unemployment within the country and this will
decrease the working capacity of the country.
Along with this another major effect of people migrating from the country is the loss of
skilled labour and human capital from the country. This is due to the reason that when the person
leaves the country then the skill of that person also leaves the country. Thus, the benefit which
the domestic country was gaining from the skill has lost and the other country will get the benefit
of that person and the capital which has gone from the domestic country.
Another major effect of migration over the sending country is that there is decline in the
aggregated demand within the domestic country. This is majorly due to the fact that when the
people in large number migrates from the country then the demand within the country decreases.
Thus, this will result in the decrease in the market and the sales and different business within the
domestic country. This is due to the reason that when the people within the country will not have
proper demand and the use of the existing products and services then the country will have to
lower down its business and the operating level which is not good for the company.
In the end it can be concluded that the migration has a very negative and bad impact over
the sending country (Baas and Melzer, 2016). This is majorly because of the reason that this
always result in the decrease in the working efficiency of the country.
