in the market. As a food and beverages business, Burger King uses its strengths to have a
competitive advantages against the business giants like McDonald's. Also, company must take into
consideration the risks and threats linked to them from their competitors to overcome from those
risks.
The following are the strengths of Burger King. Firstly, Global Market Operations which
indicates Burger King is known as second largest fast food industry across the world. It has its
operations in more than 100 countries like UK and US (Davis and et. al., 2018). The BK
abbreviation for Burger King is known by many people (Swot analysis, 2019). Secondly, Food
Quality of Burger King. They focused their direction on using a fresh vegetable for their products.
No preservatives or additives is used in their patties. In UK, 100% British and Irish beef is being
offered to their customers. Lastly, High Level of Satisfaction for Burger King is their key strength.
BK has able to attain a high level of customer satisfaction as they had a good taste and unique
product offerings and also they provide toys specially for kids which make Burger King kids
friendly (Hendarto and et. al., 2018).
The main Weaknesses of Burger King is their High Calorie Food, which means they have
not been able to deliver healthy and low calorie food to their potential customers. Some people are
against the unhealthy food which bring down the sale for Burger King. High Attrition Rate in
Workforce of Burger King than other competitors are also a weakness of Burger King. They have
to spent higher on training and development of its employees and also, the Customer Loyalty as
Food and Beverages sector is extremely competitive. The switching cost is very low (Kreutzer,
2019). It is easy for the customers to switch from one brand to another. Hence, it is necessary for all
the restaurants to make their customers highly satisfied. Burger King has less customer loyalty in
comparison to other brands.

discounts because customers do not want to drive over for food or to wait in line to get the food
(Lisfiansyah, 2018). Burger King has the opportunity to increase its product mix by adding new
product lines to attract more potential customers. The brand can come up with healthy menus with
new flavour additives which is low in fat can attract more health conscious customers. Burger King
already has its operations in various parts of world like UK, China and India. The expansion in
developing markets will be a good opportunity as developed markets are in maturing stage.
Therefore, targeting new market will be beneficial (Burger King SWOT Analysis &

currency is also a major threat as Burger King has its dealings in numerous countries which has

the internal and external strategic factors which will helps them in making a good decision for the
business. BK should focus on above mentioned strengths to gain competitive advantages and
opportunities to capture more countries. The weaknesses and threats for Burger King will aware
them of their competitors and which provides them the ways of overcoming those challenges and
risks to sustain in the competitive environment.
