Recommendations for project governance
 Monitoring the details of the Burj Khalifa project: The details of the Burj Khalifa
project are to be recorded prior to the development of the project. The project has been
organized in the country of UAE in the city of Dubai. The major scope of the project is to
bring the theory of the vertical city into existence. The main aim is to develop the tallest
building of the world and it would also be open air look-out deck. All the objectives and
the scopes of the project are to be monitored and scope for the project maintained
throughout the project.
 Keeping track of the critical path and milestones: The scheduled timeline and the
milestone for the development of the project are required to be kept in check. The dates
for the each of the milestones for the project are developed at the start of the project and
after reaching a milestone the project is to be reviewed. The slack time and time
remaining are to be kept track of remaining part of the project and the time remaining for
the project. The major milestones of the project are project approval, project budget and
timeline allocation and project implementation. The action plan for the development of
the project has been described and the architecture designs are required to be obtained
within the given timeframe. Hence, it is important that these action plan are required to
kept in check and hence, this requires maintenance. The project should be starting on
time and the procedures of the project should be completed on time. In case of delay the
resources are required to reallocated so that the project is completed on time.
 Using MS Project tool for the tracking schedule and budget: The MS project tool is to
be used for the detailing the project requirements. The Gantt chart is to be developed for
the project using this tool and in addition to this, the total budget of the project can also

be developed using the MS Project tool. This project estimates and the milestones can
also be developed using the tool. It is very important for the governance of project. There
are a number of tasks in the Burj Kahlifa project that is not completed fully and hence,
the progress of each task can also be viewed eaily from this tool.
 Understanding the abilities of the teammates in the project: It is important for the
project team that they can understand the ability of each of their team mates and are sure
about their abilities, so that they can easily estimate the time required for the completion
of the project. In addition to this, in case of re-allocation of a task the project leader is
required to take an estimated of the project and the time and budget requirements within
the scope of the project. The additional time and resources required for the development
of the project and additional budget required would be adjusted as per the skills of the
project group.
