Situation The situation before me is to have well-defined smart goals on which I can rely to develop myself.
One of the most important strategies to employ is to communicate well with the people with whom
I interact. For me to successfully execute a project, I have to be a good communicator who can use
the verbal, written, and non-verbal communication competencies to deliver message to the
intended audience both in a formal and informal setting. It is an obligation that I have accomplish
no matter what it takes to do so. .
Task As an aspiring leader, I know I have a challenging task to execute. To be an effective and
dependable leader, I have to be an effective communicator. Meaning, one of the major tasks I have
to execute is to effectively communicate with everyone with whom I interact, be it my senior,
colleague or juniors. Therefore, to accomplish this, I have to sharpen and refine my verbal, non-
verbal, and written communication. Each of these must be taken seriously because they mean a lot
to me in as far as my prosperity is concerned.
Action The action I took was to improve on and sharpen my communication competencies. I
acknowledge how important it is to be an effective communicator. So, what I have been doing is
to ensure that I excel in this area. I have managed to do this by taking a number of steps. One, I
have been making a proper usage of the written communication strategies that are recommended
for use in the society today. This include the use of clarity, formatting style, precision, simplicity,
and formality whenever making any business-related communication. Two, I have been making a
proper application of the verbal and non-verbal communication skills. I have been doing this by
employing the use of critical listening skills, respect, tolerance, and appreciation. Whenever
communicating to someone, I do ensure that I respect their opinion, give them enough time to
express themselves, respect the culture, and speak in an audible and articulate manner. I have also

been using he non-verbal cues in the right manner that does not offend anyone with whom I
communicate. The proper ways in which I use these uses enable me to communicate in a
multicultural setting without offending anyone. All these have enabled me to communicate and
establish close interpersonal relations with everyone.
Result I had a difficult task to undertake. Communication is not a simple task because its success depends
on the way in which one applies various strategies. For me to succeed in all my duties I had to
heavily invest in communication because without it, I would not accomplish anything. In this
regard, I had to do everything within my capacity to be an effective, if not a perfect communicator.
The end result of m dedication is that I succeeded. It was an overall success because; at no any
given time did I encounter any communication-related hiccups. My success taught me the
significant roles of dedication, passion, and commitment in success.

BUS10012 is a good course. I must admit. It has given me an opportunity to learn a lot. I have acquired lots of competencies that I would
otherwise not have. Today, I have a lot of real-life useful capabilities. Some of the greatest strengths that I have so far acquired in the course are
critical thinking, team work, and effective interpersonal communication skills. Initially, I had no capacity to solve real life challenges by giving
them feasible solutions. However, today, I can boldly confront any problem and tackle it wisely. He same applies to communication which I now
do perfectly well. This has made me to be a reputable brand amongst my peers. I am proud. So, what I can tell you is to be ready to learn and
make the best out of yourselves.
