1AUSTRALIA AND INTERNATIONAL STUDENTS
Working in Australia is necessary as it helps assisting with living expenses as well as it
provides job expenses. International students can work up to 40 hours per week. There is no
restriction on working hour while schools are having vacations. Students need to get
confirmation from Australian educational institution before applying for student visa (Robertson,
2014).
One’s salary as a full time student is often not adequate to cover the entire tuition fees or cost
of living. Therefore, in most circumstance international students take up a part time job. Part-
time jobs are important. Students need to earn extra money for high cost of living in Australia
and for own pocket money. Often students are requiring money for extra tuition fees or sending
money to home (Bryson, 2016). Summing up, students need part time job covering entire
expenditure that one has to take up.
Australia compared to other states provides better satisfaction at job to international students.
Policy of working time that makes studying as well as working possible at the same time.
Australia has wage policies that ensure fairness for the workers. Part-time work provides
experiences and can bring great opportunities to the students for future. Also, often part-time job
has been proved to be relaxing amidst stressful study time. For international students, part time
job brings more opportunities and better life (Allen, Quinn, Hollingworth and Rose, 2013).
Australia allows most students to work for up to 40 hours every week. Australia has a strong
economy and international students are often found content with the job they do in their part time
(Butt, 2014). They can also work for unlimited time period during break. International students
get Temporary residence visa after graduation from 18 months to 24 months.
