INTRODUCTION
Learning and development both are important aspect in student’s life. Business functions
are those which are used within an organisation to achieve goals & objectives. (Adams, 2020).
Sainsbury, a supermarket & hypermarket chain headquartered in U.K. Firm deals in large range
products such as groceries, consumable items etc. The enterprise is located globally & has carried
out their functions & operations at wider scale. This report focuses on different types of business
functions and their link & academic skills which required for becoming a successful undergraduate.
TASK 1
Discuss how functions of business are essential & reflect their link with each other
Business functions are those types of function through which are used in company with aim
to carry out their business activities. It is essential to use these functions in such a way that goals are
accomplished. In relation with they also have several types of business functions such as operation
functions are those in which process is carried out for producing goods & services. Tesco, use this
for production of their products & goods. Human resource is function in which activities like
hiring, recruiting, staffing is done. They are mainly responsible for increasing the productivity of
firm by acquisition of talented staff. Then, marketing function in which it includes activities like
implement of strategies, increasing sales revenue of firm etc. Further one is finance function in
which auditing, accounting is being carried out (Asaul, 2018).
TASK 2
Analyse academic skills/ techniques that are crucial for undergraduate student
Academic skills are essential for students and use them in proper manner so that goals &
objectives are achieved. There are various type of skills which are required by students such as
presentations, communication, ICT skills. These skills could be achieved by attending seminars,
lecturers, coaching, online browsing etc. These are important for student as these will help them in
achieving of goals properly. Moreover academic techniques are also crucial which are to be used in
most efficient way. Major focus is required to being done on presentation & communication
because they will help in understanding & communication in public which also leads to high
confidence.
Therefore, it is seen that by accessing to these academic skills & techniques it is easier for
student to become successful in education field. Moreover, it enhances their learning knowledge &
inner capability. Furthermore, proper knowledge is needed to be maintained so that new ways
through which these important skills can be accessed are known. The discussed skills are also
beneficial for future which can be used in professional career further by students (Le, 2019).

CONCLUSION
From above report, it has been concluded that it is necessary for students to focus on their
learning, growth so that they are able to achieve goals. Further, discussions have been made about
importance of business functions and academic skills. To be successful, it is required for students to
have relevant skills & awareness so that personal or professional objectives are accomplished
within time interval.
