Success and Failure of Business Analysis Projects
There are a number of reasons behind the success and failure of the business analysis
projects. The different reasons/factors are presented below;
Success factors
a. The unlimited support from the senior management is an important success factor
for the project. The presence of an unlimited support from the part of the higher
management can help ensure the success of the project.
b. The presence of a realistic schedule and a project sponsor is another major success
factor for the project success. Bothe the factors can help the project to gain the
necessary ground that will be needed for the completion of the project in the most
competent and organized manner (Hussain, Mkpojiogu & Kamal, 2016).

MANAGEMENT
Organizational discipline and competency are two of the most necessary factors for
success.
Failure Factors
a. Missing Stakeholders is one of the major reasons that can lead to the failure of the
projects. The absence of proper commitment from the part of the stakeholders can
lead to the failure of the project. Stakeholders are an important part of the project and
therefore their presence in the project is an important matter of concern.
b. Absence of proper communication can also act as a major reason behind the failure
of the projects (Hussain, Mkpojiogu & Kamal, 2016). The poor presence or absence
of communication in between the business analysts and the business development
team can lead to the failure of the project.
Success and Failure of Business Process Management Projects
There are both success and failure factors for the business process management
projects. Some of them are as follows;
Success
a. Business Process Management is a business strategy that can help to deliver the
best business performance and the business improvement and sustainability for the
business process. According to, Dabaghkashani, Hajiheydari & Haghighinasab,
(2012) this is beneficial in a number of different manners. This includes, the work
being done in an easy manner, services and process management being done
inasmuch better manner and the start of new services.
b. Business Process Management Project can be successful as because it is the only
way to assure the traceability of the business performance (Dabaghkashani,

MANAGEMENT
Hajiheydari & Haghighinasab, 2012). The traceability of the business process is
surely a major benefit for the project which is surely a success factor.
Failure
a. The thinking that Business Process Management is all based on technology itself is
a major factor that leads to failure of the projects based on business process
management. The automated process of business process management can fail if the
technology is used before even knowing the type of technology or skill needed to
perform the process.
b. Process of Gathering information is totally flawed and this is surely another major
area that leads to the failure of the business project management (Dabaghkashani,
Hajiheydari & Haghighinasab, 2012). The process of too much focus on the
stakeholders thus makes the process flawed as the information that is collected by
undertaking such a process leads to major problems and different issues.
Success and Failure of Case Management Projects
The success and failure of the case management projects has also been discussed here
in details. The reference has been taken from a secondary research on the same subject.
Case 1-Project management practices: the criteria for success or failure. .
According to, Attarzadeh & Ow (2008) the involvement of the users and the presence
of a clear statement that helps to determine the different requirements of the projects. The
proper and transparent understanding related to the different requirements of the project is
extremely essential for the success of the case management project. Apart from this the
presence of a strong support from the executive management can also help to bring the
success factor in the project.

Case 2- Case management: An introduction to concepts and skills. Oxford University

has been the major reasons behind the success and failures of the case management projects.
The major success factors for the case management practices remains the proper planning and
the formulation of a strong risk management plan. The presence of a strong risk management
plan in particular helps the project to gain a strong ground.
On the other hand, the major factors that acts as the failure is the absence of a proper
scope document and the incapability of selecting the right people for the right job. The
absence of the right people for the right job can have a strong impact on the success of the
project case.
Case 3- Strategic knowledge management failures in small professional service firms in
China. International Journal of Information Management
