INTRODUCTION
Business environment can be defined as various macro factors along with micro factors
which affects various organisational activities, function along with operations. For this it is vital
to collaborate and collaborate with all factors so that company will operates their business in
effective manner (Akhmetshin and et.al., 2017). In which the following report is considered a
private organisation namely, Tesco, voluntary company which is Wellcome and the public sector
that is British Broadcasting company is selected. In present assignment discussion about various
types of company is carried on the basis of size, purpose and scope as well as its legal structure.
Additionally, the interrelationship among department of company with their organisational
structure.
TASK 1
P1 Various types of organisation and their objectives
Organisations are build for conducting various activities which help in accomplishing a
particular purpose and goal. Various kinds of organisations exist in the current commercial
environment which include public organisations, private enterprises, voluntary organisations and
others. These organisations are present in the market to complete dissimilar tasks, their
objectives and motivations to accomplish those objectives are different (Veselovsky and et.al.,
2017). These organisations conduct various activities to meet their end goals. Construction of a
private enterprise in global market requires huge investment. Different types of organisations are
provided below:
Private organisation: The organisations which come under this unit are partnership,
person, association, agency or corporation. The main motivation behind construction of these
organisations is gaining profits and the organisation conducts all of their operations for attaining
this objective . This type of enterprise is self sufficient, non-governmental entity. Private
enterprises are of several kinds including sole proprietors, Public and Private limited cooperation
and many others. An example of private organisation is TESCO.
Legal composition of private organisation
Sole traders: This type of private organisations are omened by a single person and the
responsibility of managing organisational resources, conducting business operations
related to judicial and economic features is of the individual owner. The loss or profit

gained by an organisation directly affects the owner and such outcome is managed by
the proprietor.
Partnership: This type of private organisation requires less funds and is managed by
two or more individuals. The loss or profit gained by the organisation is shared by
these individuals unless stated in the partnership deed. John lewis Partnership is an
example of this kind of private organisation.
Private limited corporations: These types of privately owned organisations don't have
the permission to sell their shares to the public (Veselovsky and et.al., 2017). Example
of Private limited corporation is Airdri.
Public limited corporation: This kind of organisation sells their shares to the public in
order to acquire capital which is used as an investment for further development and
growth of the organisation. TESCO and Sainsbury's are example of Public limited
corporation.
Public organisation: The organisations which come under this category are commercial
enterprises held and controlled by government. These types of organisations have huge impact
on the economy of a country as various services and products are provided to the citizens of a
country by such enterprises. The main goal of such organisations is to increase their profits in
order to boost the economic growth of their country and enhance the financial conditions of each
citizen of the country. Various types of public organisations include natural gas, mineral,
aluminium manufacturing organisations and others. An example of Public organisation is British
Broadcasting company.
Judicial structure of Public organisation
Central government department:These firm is governed by state government.
Local authorities: The organisations which come under this categories are controlled
by various local authorities across the nation. The administration of various operations
for efficient working of the is completed by members of local governing authorities.
Voluntary organisations: The chief objective of these kinds of organisation is overall
development of people from underprivileged backgrounds along with welfare and development
of each individual member of the society (Komljenovic, Loiselle and Kumral, 2017). Individuals
voluntarily enter these organisations to participate in activities which promote welfare of their
fellow citizens. These types of organisation undertake various activities for public good. The

selected organisation for this context is Wellcome Trust. This trust was established by Henry
Wellcome in 1936 . The organisation invests in research to improve health of humans and other
sentient creatures (Bejtkovský, Rózsa and Mulyaningsih, 2018).
Legal structure of Voluntary organisation
Trust: These types of organisations generates capital by various programs and gives
funds for the development and growth of the collective society. Individuals donate
some amount of money or other valuable possession to help the organisation conduct
various activities.
Others: Royal charter assemblage, community and so on.
Unincorporated associations: These organisations are chiefly consists of
administration committees which provide aid in completing certain tasks and
responsibilities.
P2 Scope and size of company
Different companies offer distinct products with different scope, size, mission and vision.
In order to attract maximum no of shareholders, companies utilize their capital for carrying
operations and maintaining sustainability. Further the factors justifying size and scope of
companies is mentioned in below points as follows:
Private Ltd companies: The main purpose behind such companies is increase in
profitability and achievement of objectives of the firm. Tesco is a supermarket company with a
chain of various outlets making huge profits (Eling and Schaper, 2017). The main aim of
company is satisfying customers needs and wants and simultaneously earning profits. After
adequate research study the companies study their consumer market with making required
changes and modifications as per choices of the customer:
Background: Tesco is a leading company and has second largest supermarket chain in
UK. This was founded by Jack Cohen in year 1919. This company offers wide variety of product
along with services since past decades.
Vision: Main vision of company is to develop high values for business unit in order to
offers qualitative commodity, goods and services to end users.

Mission: Their main mission is to offer positive environment to their staff members so
that entities of company will able to meet their pre defined goal by offering expected goods and
products to consumers.
Objectives: To enhance the profitability along with market shares of company thorough
out the world.
Product or services: Tesco has a large supermarket chain and deals with wide variety of
products range such as groceries, luxurious home products, clothes and so on.
Size: As Tesco company is operating at international level and for which they required a
huge number of employees within company. In relevance to this, currently they have more than
450000 employees with them.
Structure: Tesco company follows functional organisational structure in order to carry
out functions effectively. As well as this makes easy for mangers to spread information to all
levels of companies (ključnikov and et.al., 2016).
Voluntary sector : These types of firm refers to those business units which mainly run
their business for the well fare and development of society. In which their main purpose of
operating business is to do goods for the well-being of society along with earning money. In
context of present scenario Wellcome is chosen has it is a trustees and the most well known
company related to voluntary of UK.
Vision: The primary vision of company is to increase the health of peoples along with
animals on the basis of biomedical research
Mission : The main mission of this trust is to do well in biomedical research for society
well fare and for peoples benefits.
Size: Currently more than 1797 employees are working with BBC company.
Objective: To improve the heath of individuals as well as to provide funds to various
biomedical researchers.
Structure: Matrix organisational structure is followed by Wellcome trust.
PLC (public limited company) :
It is defined as enterprise which sell their share to public and are used as trading. In
this, buyers have limited liability. In business, PLC features are different from others. So, British
Broadcasting Corporation has been taken as PLC. They have also many sisters such as BBC
Norhern Ireland, BBC worldwide, BBC studios etc.

Background: BBC is to known as public service sector which is headquartered in London. This
organisation was launched under Royal Charter. It is old and established organisation which
operates their services at global scale (Martins and Nienaber, 2018).
Services & Products: The firm has large number of products and services such as through
digital media platforms like television, radio, internet etc.
Vision: Main vision of firm is to global leader in market.
Mission: Main mission of company is to provide reliable information to public at wider scale.
Size: BBC has wide number of employee which are around 20,916.
Objectives: Main objective of this company is to achieve higher productivity & efficiency at
higher scale.
Structure: BBC follow hierarchical structure in their organisation in which decisions are being
made by top authority. Due to this rigid structure, they have control over the business in
proper manner.
TASK 2
P3 Interrelation within different organisational departments.
Marketing and finance- TESCO marketing departments are the one who gets involved
for developing some of the effective strategies along with conducting market research. One of
the main objective of the TESCO is to make some better strategy which can help in increase the
sales of the brand. Finance department is the one which help in providing the funds which can be
used by the other department for their proper regulations. They are the one which are there for
making budget for the marketing plan. Whenever, there is need to organise any campaign which
is for the marketing plan and for the advertisement purpose then the finance department need to
provide them sufficient funds. Such interrelationship between the marketing department and the
finance department are able to affect the structure of the organisation. This helps TESCO for
proper use of their funds for the marketing department which can ultimately helps for achieving
the objectives or goal for high profitability (You and et.al., 2019). Such are the ways which are
used for creating interrelationship within different department which can help in giving their best
to the organisation and are able to give their best for achieving the objective of the brand.
HR and Marketing- One of the main role of the HR department is to hire the employees
which are best for their job. They need to hire capable candidates for that specific job profile.

Marketing department is the one which is having the ability to post vacancies along with
promoting the services and products which the company is offering. Along with this marketing
department of the TESCO need to make some research which is about the market for getting the
requirements of the customer. For this marketing department need to get help of the HR
department for providing them some employees who are having the marketing quality and can
help them in their work. There is need to have some coordination and cooperation's which can
help in running proper the function in both the business operation's (Vasilev and et.al.,2017).
This interrelationship help TESCO to hire best employee for their marketing department which
can further enhance their productivity along with achieving the goal with quality staff members.
Such are the one way which are there can create the interrelation for managing the proper
business departments which are there can help in running properly the business.
Production and R&D- Production department is the one which is responsible for
manufacturing the products in the TESCO, which is some of their won brand which is having the
high quality but available in less price. Research and development department is the one which is
responsible for giving the opportunity which is by their hard work by which they are able to
produce some of new products which are good for the health along with the humanity. This
interrelationship between the production department and the R&D department are able to give
some of the new and better quality products at low price which is able to satisfy the customer
need. Here, the production department is the one which is required to manufacture products
which are there can be used and should have the low production cost which is related by the
research and development team where such decision for the production should taken for the high
productivity and the high profitability of the company.
Organisational Structure- This is the one which is there in all types of organisation in
which there are different types of structure which includes functional structure, Divisional
structure, Matrix structure, flatarchy and so on. In this, the TESCO should using different
organisational structure for different operation which are one of the best for such business
operations and there should give higher value to the work along with different benefits for
operating such departments (Koišová and et.al., 2017). There is different structure in the TESCO
such as for the corporate governance structure is different, organisational structure for store is
different and so on. This is the one which is having the ability the ability for maintaining the all
department with their higher productivity which can be beneficial for the company. Such

decided by the process of proper management team and can help in managing the all department

CONCLUSION
From above discussed report it has been analysed that all companies either private, public
or voluntary operates their business with a specific scope like private run their business for
maximizing the profitability, public operates for offering services to individual and the voluntary
run their business in order to improve the living standards of individuals. Also, it is important for
companies to maintain interrelationships with among function of company for attaining the goal
of company within small time frame.
