The sender/receiver model can be used in most situations throughout life. A real life example that I can
share with the class is a situation where I was studying English in order to enter the University. I went into a
grammar class. My English was very weak at that time. It was very difficult for me to understand the teacher.
The teacher was the sender. The noise that I was experiencing was the use of English language that I did
not yet understand. The rest of the class, see and understand the messages that she was sending, but I was missing
most of what she was communicating. Most of the class had her as a teacher before, so, therefore, the way in which
she communicated was familiar to them. Since she was new for me, I did not understand and she was not aware that
I was missing what she was saying because I did not ask for clarification.
b) Answer:
In this situation, I was the receiver. I made the assumption that everyone else in the class was having the
same difficulty understanding what she was saying. I also assumed that if I did not understand something in one
class, she would ask to explain the details in the next class. Unfortunately, because I did not communicate to her that
I did not understand what she was saying, she never went further into the details. As a result, I failed the exam at the
midterm.
c) Answer:
In my opinion, the noise I experienced was the language barrier. I did not understand the language that she
was using to give her class information. Because the teacher assumed that I understood what she was saying, this
‘noise’ was increased.
d) Answer:
Until I failed, I did not say anything about missing what was being said in class. I asked the school director
if I could move to another school or be put under another teacher. The director said he did not care, but the real
process was that I had to talk directly to the teacher. She was happy that I talked to her and she change the way in

which she was communicating so that I could understand more of what she was saying. As a result, I got an A in my
final exam.

The most important soft skill that a business analyst must have – do is achieve competence in
communications. This class is offered a number of different opportunities in a variety of different areas
so that students can work towards increasing their professional approach. The class provides tools that
have helped them to become successful business analysts. However, no curriculum can be successful
without a good instructor. The instructor that leads this class has enough personal experiences that the
students are able to learn from what is offered in the form of teaching because it is backed by these rich
experiences. A good example of this came when the teacher introduced the 15 minutes mini meeting.
This particular task provided an opportunity to learn how to manage time and how and when to ask the
right questions. The class also provides an opportunity to learn how to work in a team so that we can
work on our communication skills and develop ways in which to interact with others so that we can
become successful in teamwork. I felt that the most important aspect of the class was learning how to
communicate, because the skill of applying the sender/receiver model to communications is one of the
most valuable skills that a business analyst must achieve.
Communications can be applied in every situation that requires messages to be sent and received. This
means that all human interaction is defined by the ability of people to send and receive messages. I will
be able to apply this concept to my business career as much as I will need to have it in my house with
my wife and children. Participating in the team project was one of the best ways for me to learn about
my communication skills. After we formed our team, we created a document that was used as an outline
and basis for our project. It provided information on who was going to do what, and what tools were
going to be necessary. This document was used as the base of our communication so that any
misunderstandings in the future could be referred back to that document for clarification. In addition,
we used e-mails, phone calls, and Google documents to manage our time and establish meetings. All of
these tools provided a rich environment for communications between the team members. The

practicality of learning how to communicate in a group setting was something that I am sure I will be

Communication occurs with every encounter between two or more people. Sometimes
communications are successful, but other times it is not. The sender/receiver model is an important
concept for understanding the way in which communication takes place. In this model, the message is
transferred from one person and then received by the person, persons, or bystanders who happen to
hear or see the way in which the message has been sent. This is a process model that shows that when
information is transferred from one person to another, the first person is encoding the messages while
the receivers are decoding the messages. What makes this model important? It is important because it
describes interactions between people and the way in which understanding and misunderstanding can
take place. A misunderstanding occurs when an individual does not decode a message properly which
can lead to this judgment and bad feelings between people. Therefore, understanding how the message
is coded so that it can be decoded properly is an essential part of the process of communications.
One of the barriers to creating a good relationship between the sender and the receiver can be
considered noise. The noise comes when a distracting force or some type of interference occurs that
garbles the message. Noise is not necessarily audible. In terms of communications, noise can be an
interference that comes because a large portion of the communication process is not available. As an
example, body language is not possible as part of the interpretive process if communication is taking
place through e-mail. In some ways, e-mails provide a less noise filled communication opportunity. An
individual can read a short message and not have to deal with anything that might be a distraction to
the message. On the other hand, e-mails have their own kind of noise because they are missing certain
parts of the communication that would be available in a face-to-face meeting. E-mails are a shorter form
of communication, and eliminate a lot of the extra information that can cloud a message, but many
people still prefer meeting face-to-face because if a portion of the message is not clear, the immediacy
of being in another person's presence can provide an opportunity to clarify. The problem of noise is that

it interferes with clarity. Noise will create a situation in which the receiver cannot properly decode the
message. Therefore, the sender needs to make sure that the message is clearly outlined with the
receiver being careful to decode the message appropriately. As a result, understanding the
