Reflection Paper 3
Introduction
The paper is based on the reflection of the experience I have derived from the Bachelor of
Business Administration (BBA) degree program. This reflection paper aims to evaluate the
achievement of this program by analyzing the experiences critically. Attending the course turns
out to be beneficial for my career as it can open new opportunities that I can explore to develop
my career in this field. I am going to discuss the knowledge regarding the following that I have
gained from the program:
Tools of business decision making
Integrated major principles in different functional areas like accounting, marketing,
human resources, finance, and management
Professional standards of business communication
Legal, ethical, as well as, cultural principles associated with business decision making
Global business environment
My focus is to analyze my proficiency in the learning outcomes with examples from the work
that I have accomplished throughout the course to support my claims.
Business decision tools
A pivotal area of knowledge in business administration is the knowledge of business
decision-making tools that enable students to become effective managers who can manage
business operations efficiently in critical situations. The BBA course at Minnesota University
has helped me to learn about strategic mastering in the field of business. The course has
encouraged students to develop their business decision-making skills that will be advantageous
for them in career when they perform an entrepreneurial venture in the business world. The
students have to research, learn, arrange, as well as, present the information they have gathered

to engage and benefit others. Learning the intended, emergent and realized strategies can be
helpful for them in understanding strategic management (Adaletey, Raju & Phung, 2020). I have
gathered enough experience while researching different types of businesses (especially food and
beverage businesses) and the ownership activities associated with them. The business chosen by
me was my first priority but learning the difficulties I had to change my decision after the first
semester. I learned about the reality a confectionary owner may face and it made me ready for
the practical business scenario that will help me with feasibility creation in my career.
Integrated major principles of marketing, accounting, human resources, finance, and
management
Completing my BBA course from Minnesota University I have acquired essential
knowledge on integrated major principles of marketing, accounting, human resources, finance, as
well as, management. The professors have shared their theoretical and practical understanding of
the fundamental principles so that the students can run their business efficiently and effectively.
The knowledge I have gained about the principles associated with the aforementioned aspects of
the business will be extremely beneficial for me in handling the problematic issues that I may
face in my career. From the chapter "Leading Strategically" I have come to know how an
organization needs to develop its performance to achieve its vision, mission, and goals. The
chapter "Managing Firm Resources" has helped me to gain knowledge on how organizations can
successfully operate their business functions with their resources. I have learned how evaluation
of the business environment helps an organization in mapping its strategic groups so that all the
strategies can be properly implemented in achieving growth and success. Resource-based
theories, SWOT analysis, value chain analysis are the most effective tools that help business
organizations in finding out the ways through which the business operations can be improved to

boost profitability (Leanza et al. 2017). All these principles will help me to acquire a good
reputation in my career for handling firm resources and managing business functions
strategically.
Professional standards of business communication
The course has helped me to improve my professional capabilities so that I can efficiently
and effectively communicate with all the professionals in an organization during the course of
the possible future internship. My experience as an intern will be beneficial for me in handling
problems in my career as I have been given an opportunity to experience the world of business
practice. The professors have encouraged me to manage different problematic situations with
appropriate theories and models whereas the manager of the organization where I worked as an
intern showed me what challenges I may face and how to solve them practically. Apart from that,
I have acquired knowledge on code of conduct at the workplace, communication with different
units as well as administrative behavior. I have been provided with an opportunity to assess my
understanding of the chapter "Selecting Business-Level Strategies" practically and how these
strategies can be implemented to handle business operations.
Business decision making
My learning of the chapter "Supporting the Business-Level Strategy: Competitive and
Cooperative Moves" has gained a practical shape by my experience of learning the business
scenario from a practical angle during my internship. As a result, I have learned a great deal
about the ethical, legal, and cultural dimensions and aspects of business decision making.
Principles of ethical, cultural and legal dimensions
Before participating in the course, I hardly had enough knowledge about the Principles of
ethical, cultural, and legal dimensions in business decision making. The course has allowed me

to develop comprehensive ideas about the ethics and culture of an organization that have led the
organization to achieve success. Business organizations need to follow business ethics and
provide a well-organized cultural environment for the employees so that they feel dedicated to
contributing to the success of the organization (Bayanova et al. 2019). The chapters "Executing
Strategy through Organizational Design" and "Leading an Ethical Organization: Corporate
Governance, Corporate Ethics, and Social Responsibility" have helped to develop my knowledge
on corporate ethics, culture, and legal parameters that were completely new concepts for me.
Global business environment
As a part of the Bachelor of Business Administration (BBA) degree program at
Minnesota University, I have become aware of the considerations regarding the environment in
which global businesses partake that I need to keep in mind. The chapter "Competing in
International Markets" has helped me to evaluate the internationalized environment of businesses
and the chapter "Selecting Corporate-Level Strategies" has provided me with the idea of how to
survive in the competitive world of business by choosing the right strategy at the right time.
The critical assessment of learning outcomes enables the students to judge what they
have learned and what they need to plan out for the development of their career. The course can
be beneficial for understudies in developing a well-organized and effective business plan for the
international expansion of a business by setting its objectives and analyzing organizational
resources and capabilities. The knowledge of reviewing the internal and external environment
strategically gained from the course will enable me to explore entrepreneurial opportunities to
establish my career.
I feel that I have acquired sufficient proficiency from my learning outcomes that can help
me to develop a strategic business plan with which the organization with which I am working

can expand internationally. The assignments I prepared for gaining practical experience
enhanced my creativity and I have gained the ability to show uniqueness in strategizing business
plans for my organization to make it achieve a competitive advantage over its competitors. I have
been given a scope to utilize my skills to the fullest for the development of my career in the field
of business management and administration.
While looking for an area of improvement, I have identified how to justify the selection
of a proper strategy for the success of an organization using financial and research information
effectively. Although I have learned about leading strategies that can help business organizations
in growing more I wish to develop my knowledge in this particular section.
As I need to reflect on the experiences gathered throughout the BBA program, the first
thing I want to focus on is the different ways of learning more about different aspects of a
business. I have spent enough time to learn my lessons dedicatedly and attending lectures so that
I can apply them practically in the future properly and effectively. As an extremely disciplined,
dedicated, and passionate student of the BBA program of Minnesota University, I have enjoyed
my classes and liked the ways my professors have taught, supported, and guided me to get
engaged with the right career path. Their effort and help have encouraged me more to learn about
strategic analysis of business environments for exploring new entrepreneurial opportunities and
business expansion. I consider this as an advantageous learning outcome for developing the
career I am presently pursuing.
To sum up, I require to say that the overall experience derived from this BBA program
has been fruitful for changing my life and encouraging me to choose the right path that suits my
capability the best. I acknowledge the learning outcomes and future endeavors of the BBA
program of Minnesota University that will support me throughout my career.
