BUSINESS CHARTER ANALYSIS
Business case contributing in project charter
Business case plays an important role in developing a project charter. With the help of the
business case that is provided understanding of the need of the project gets clear. The business
case regarding the alumni-student engagement helps in better collaborating of the high level
strategic goals as per the requirement of the project. For performing a PMP process, the precise
case will help in stating the deliverables in a proper manner. With proper portrayal of the
business case resources that will be required can be well estimated and hence preparing of the
project charter has been easier. Prioritization of the aspects during developing of the project
charter is also one of the major reason that the business case that is provided will help in
developing a project charter. Establishment of a target in the project charter is one of the main
concern of developing project charter, which also gets facilitated with proper developing of the
project charter.
Tasks that is required for completion of the project charter
The tasks that are required for preparing the project charter after providing proper case
includes performing of the value proposition. In this case the identifying the project deliverable
is estimated in order to perform the issue mitigation process. This will help the senior managers
to understand the process and hence better management of the project. Risk management is also
one of the important part that is missing in the case that is provided in the system (Heldman
2018). Planning of the project achievement is one of the main reason of performing the project
charter. Developing of the implementation plan is one of the major aspect that increases the
importance of the project charter. This part is also missing in the project and this part is required
to be created for developing of the project charter. Creation of the dependency list is also

required in the project charter creation process. Usage of six sigma tools the main issue that is
taken into consideration includes the fact that complexities of the project charter increases (Elias
2016).
Challenges
After completion of these parts the project charter the main challenges that I think might
be an issue is poor drafting of the problem statement. The problem statements are often not
precise and hence the management process suffers. Problem statement is considered to be the
heart of the project charter. In case the project charter has poorly defined problem statement, the
entire project charter will lose its efficiency (Brasse et al, 2015). It is also seen that most of the
project charters are filled with statistical data which makes the entire charter irrelevant as the
project charter is expected to be simple and precise. Improper performing of the risk
management can also be considered as a challenge. Another major aspect that must be taken into
consideration is that the roles of the stakeholders might not be properly defined (Varajão,
Colomo-Palacios & Silva 2017). In this case the main issue that will be present includes
improper management of the task allocation and the project charter will lose its efficiency.
