.INTRODUCTION
Business Consultants is a professional who is responsible for analyzing businesses and
creating solutions to their problems. This further helps the businesses in formulative effective
plans so that they can meet their goals in an efficient manner (Adizes, Cudanov and Rodic,
2017). In simple words, business consultants recommend and guide businesses on how can they
achieve goals more effectively. Rockefeller University College Albany is a public policy school
that offers a variety of programs for students at both undergraduate as well as graduate level. The
report provides a summary about the client and the problem that they are facing. It also explains

as well as career experiences to the students. The college is located in University at Albany in
New York, United States. The college is aimed at preparing dynamic leaders who will shape the
public polies of the future. The college has qualified and experienced faculty embers who are
dedicated to providing best knowledge to the students who study there.
Students at Rockefeller University College are provided various opportunities to in order
to acquire new skills and enhance their knowledge on different subjects. The college also offers
career counselling services to its students and helping them identify rewarding careers in the
public service. Other services offered to the students include interview preparation, mock
interviews, job and internship assistance, opportunities to network with the alumni as well as
potential employers (Career Services, 2020). Respective college also has a comprehensive web-
based system, Handshake, that assists the students as well as employers many ways, the students

other hand, employers can post job and internship opportunities for the students, register for
career fairs, review applications of the students as well as schedule on-campus interviews.
Rockefeller University College Albany has decided to launch a new program in their
portfolio. It is Early Childhood Education and Training Program but is facing various problems
that are related to implementing the same (Aronoff and Ward, 2016). The college is facing
problems with the promotion of the program, hiring qualified staff etc. This is also because the
college does not have any program that is related to early childhood education and training.

different fields. It has been facing a lot of competition from various colleges and universities that
offer similar programs for undergraduate and graduate students. As per my understanding of the
client, its major competitors include Burnham University, LA BioMed, SWOG, Cold Spring
Harbor Laboratory (CSHL) and Sanford-Burnham Medical Research Institute. SWOG, City of
Hope and CSHL are among the top competitors of the client that offer similar programs for
students. I think that, the client should formulate strategies in order to over Competition from
these competitors has impacted on the overall performance as well as position of the respective
college in the market. Therefore, it is important for the management of the college to formulate
strategies in order to deal with the competition.
Target Customers – Target customers are one of the most important components for any
organization and ensure that it is successful as well as profitable. As per the view point of

conditions, availability of resources etc. The college has implemented latest technology in its
system in order to offer the best information to the students (Jin and et. al., 2020). Also, non-
availability of appropriate promotional resources can also impact the process of promoting the
new program in the market and thus act as a challenge.

because these universities also offer undergraduate and graduate programs that are similar to
what Rockefeller University offers. Intense competition can lead to creating an impact on the
overall performance of an organization. Also, if the competition will be unhealthy, it will lead to
lower engagement among the customers. As a result, they would not prefer to enroll for the
college. Another issue that is identified is related to the target customers of Rockefeller
University College. This is because since, many competitors of the college are offering similar
educational programs, the target customers might get attracted to them or lose interest in
enrolling to Rockefeller University (Ward, 2016). The college has not yet introduced the
program and its management is clear about what people should they target. Therefore, due to

this, they are missing out on potential customers/students. This had led to creating an impact on
the overall performance of the college in the market.
Third and the last issue that the college can face is that it does not have an access to

2017). The students who are interesting for enrolling for the program find it difficult to
locate/browse through the application form as well as related information to Early Childhood
Education and Training Program. This leads to a decrease in their overall interest too enroll for
the same and they look out for other universities that offer the same program. Apart from this,
the college does not have presence on any social media platform due to which it is not able to
reach out to its target customers as well as other potential students (Ransbotham and et. al.,
2017). Therefore, competition, target customers and non-availability of promotional resources
can said to be top three issues because they are capable of impacting the overall performance of
Rockefeller University College Albany in a negative way. This can further lead to a decline in
the number of students enrolling for programs as well as overall profitability of the college.
These are chosen to be the top issues because they can impact the overall performance of
the client as compared to the competitors. Based on my understanding of the client, these three
issues can adversely affect the client.
