INTRODUCTION
Business communication refers to process of sharing up of valuable information between
respective employees working in an organisation to ensure better working in company's
operational activities. There are various theories which are been adopted by managers and
leaders of the firm to establish effective communication in the business firm. It avoids wastage of
valuable resources of the firm and helps in increasing productivity of workforce(Fields, B. and
et. al., 2018). In this report Business college, which is well known private college in the London,
UK. It was founded in 1964 and delivers courses such as Master's degree in management and
finance, MBA as well as Phd courses.
ANALYSIS AND DISCUSSION OF ALL QUESTIONS
General theories of organisation communication
In modern times organisation communication has gain its importance in overall
development of a business enterprise. With rise to competition in business field, management
of respective business organisation seeks for various innovative techniques and ensures better
working of a business firm by utilising firm's valuable resources in effective manner. With
respect to chosen organisation i.e. Business college, managers or leaders of the firm cope up its
dynamic business environment by maintaining proper organisational structure that helps in
maintaining effective coordination between its various departments of the company. For this
establishment of effective communication plays an important role (Popular Theories of
Organizational Communication, 2021). Various theories of organisational communication theory
with respect to chosen college are as follows:
Weber's Classic theory of organisational communication: This theory was given by
Max Weber, in this theory an organisational structure of the business firm is been given by
bureaucratic organisations. This theory focuses on following up of well established formal and
hierarchical structure for communicating between various departments of the company. It helps
in attainment of organisational goals and objectives, ensuring professionalism of work and
delivers better quality products at reasonable prices without hampering its quality (Kudryavtseva,
E., 2020). In context to chosen organisation, it can be said that higher authorities of the firm
follows this theory to define clear objectives and roles of individuals towards attainment of goals
of business organisation.

Tompkins and Cheney's theory of organisational control: Respective theory is named
after its introducers that are, Tompkins and Cheney. This theory is an extraction of Weber's
Classic theory, it is based on 4 basic pillars of control that are; technical, simple, conceptive and
bureaucratic. Evaluation of these 4 types of controls revolves around conversion of an
organisation that follows simple business models to pure bureaucracies to overly technical and
innovate approaches to perform organisational activities at it best. It enhances productivity been
produced by various employees of the firm. With addition to that, this theory is also helpful in
defining up of clear vision towards respective goals and objectives of individuals working in an
organisation. With respect to chosen organisation, managers and leaders of the workforce
follows this theory to attain professionalism of work being produced in an organisation and
delivers best quality product at reasonable prices to valuable companies customers.
Barriers of communication at Business United
Communication is been treated as lifeline of all business enterprises. It is the main pillar
that stands strong between efforts being produced by various employees working in an
organisation and companies success. With light to the fact, various managers and leaders of the
firm has also said that most of the times ineffective communication results in poor productivity
or also causes disputes in an organisation (Oreg, S. and et. al., 2018). With context to chosen
organisation, main role of leaders and managers is been focused towards establishment of
effective communication between its various departments in order to extract better productivity
in an organisation and shapes aims and objectives of company towards success. Various barriers
to communication are as follows:
Language Barrier: Generally this type of barrier includes, message sent by speaker to
receiver might not be understandable because of lack of knowledge about language. As the
chosen organisation is well known, candidates from various regions and background work in the
enterprise. To overcome this barrier respective organisation implements single language as a
mode of communication in the entire organisation, which helps in avoiding any
miscommunications in the business organisation.
Psychological Barrier: This barrier is generally caused because of any stress or any
personal issues which caused difficulty in perceiving message sent by speaker to receiver. It
leads to duplication of efforts in an organisation and also sometimes causes disputes which acts
as a loophole towards attainment of desired business objectives (Коев, С., 2017). With respect to

and provides timely appraisals to overcome this barrier to communication in respective

Systematic Barrier: This type of barrier generally arise when there is ineffective
information system or communication channel in been followed by the organisation. With
addition to that, it may also caused because of lack of understanding up of job role or
responsibility of an individual (Woulfin, S.L. and Kruse, S., 2018). With respect to chosen
organisation, higher authorities of firm highly focuses on defining up of clear aims and
objectives of respective job profiles being offered by the company.
By overcoming the above mentioned barriers to communication, respective firm is able to
conduct its respective operational activities in effective manner. It helps management of a
business firm to implement various plans and strategies for ensuring effective working of a
business enterprise. The higher authorities of the company adopts various methods to overcome
these barriers and ensure better productivity of the business organisation.

RECOMMENDATIONS
As by analysing above mentioned communication theories and barriers of
communication, it can be said that, sound management of a business firm is been defined as the
way in which it conducts respective operational activities. By establishing of proper
communication techniques, it helps business firm to perform its respective operational activities
avoiding wastage of resources as well as avoids duplication of efforts of various individuals
working in the firm. The managers and leaders of the chosen firm should adopts several
techniques to overcome barriers to communication. Various ways in which respective
organisation can overcome these communication barrier are as follows:
Employees Orientation: Various employees working in an organisation posses some
individual personal goals, management of the business enterprise should focus on completion of
respective organisational goals keeping in mind various individual goals of employees working
in the workforce. It helps in keeping working environment motivated which ultimately
contributes towards extraction of best productivity from respective employees working in an
organisation.
Building Personal relations: The managers of the workforce along with following
various communication theories should also focus on building up of interpersonal relation with
various employees when necessary. It helps in developing of feelings in respective staff of sense
of belongingness towards the company. With this, it helps in extracting best of their abilities
towards provided job task and contributes in overall growth of business firm.
Effective listening: To overcome barriers of communication effective listening plays an
important part. With regards to chosen organisation, training and development sessions for
enhancing listening skills of various employees should be constructed. It will helps in
establishing effective listening skills in an individual and promotes growth of an organisation.
