INTRODUCTION
Communication is a process of transferring the
information vis different media to the end user. Business
communication help in communicating the goal,
objective and strategies to the organization. The report
highlights the common challenges and barriers face by
the organization and the different measure to minimize
the communication barriers. It explains the influences of
culture on communication and negotiation.

LO 2 Common challenges and barriers
to effective communication
Difference in perception and viewpoints: Perceptual
barriers are those barriers which arise from the
difference in value and belief of the individuals. The
employee has different perception about the beach resort
in Sri Lanka. They believe that to open resort in Sri
Lanka is riskier because of the terrorist attack. The
owner of the hotel and resort believe that they can
manage the risk by the different safety measures.
Cultural barriers: Different culture people work
together in organization. The difference in their value
and belief becomes barrier in the organization. It
perverts the employees to share their viewpoints and
opinion. It also increases the conflict in the organization.
Language barriers
In the organization people comes from various
places. The different languages spoken by them also
become barrier in communicating the right
information to the employees and customer. To open
resort in Sri Lanka they have to communicate the
information about the safety measures and facility
provided by the company to the customer and
employees.
LO 3 Strategies for minimizing the
communication barriers
Eliminating the barriers in perception: To
minimize the communication barriers and provide the
proper information to the organization they have to
eliminate the perception barriers by providing the
proper training and development, induction program
so they can more connect with each other and
understand the thoughts and planning of the owner
behind opening the beach resort.

Selection of proper media: The selection of media
also plays an important role in communicating the
information. The choose of media like social media,
advertisement, emails help in attracting the mass
population and transfer the information to the large
volume eliminate the communication barriers.
Selection of proper language: The language of the
communicator is important part for communicating the
right information to the viewers. To get the support of
investors and employees the marketing director has to
choose the proper language so each and every
employee, investor and customer can understand the
idea of the marketing director.
LO 6 Awareness of cultural influence on
communication and negotiation
Culture make huge impact on the communication
and negotiation in the organization.
The diversity in the culture bring the new ideas
in the organization and help them in decision
making process which improve the
communication in the organization. It also helps
in sharing the belief and values.
Cultural diversity helps in developing the
innovative ideas and attract the investor by
making attractive proposals. Because of the
different culture and beliefs in the organization,
it helps them to negotiate with the suppliers and
gain the win-win situation in the market.
CONCLUSION
The report summarises the various barriers in the
communication and different measures to improve
the communication by eliminating the perceptual
barriers, training and development program etc.
The report also helps to understand the influence
of culture on the communication and negotiation
in the organization.
