INTRODUCTION
Business communication is defined as information which is shared among people within
and outside business that performs commercial activities to generate benefits from organization.
This assignment consists of different communication barriers within workplace and also
develops some strategies for overcoming form barriers (Berkenkotter and Huckin, 2016). Along
with this, effectively described the awareness of cultural influences on communication and
negotiation in effective manner.

Psychological Barriers: This barrier is also known as Emotional Barriers which is
defines the mental or psychological state of an individual such as their ideas, Opinions, thinking,
attitudes, status consciousness, emotions, views and many other factor (Fischer and Fischbach,
2016).
Physiological barriers: The psychological is a state or situation of communicators or
sender or reviver which influence them to send information and analysed that how message is
send, received and perceived by an individual (Kernbach and Bresciani, 2015). This
communication barrier will occur in organization when individual is facing ill health, poor
eyesight, hearing difficulties or pain
Physical Barriers: This barrier occur when background noise, closed doors, faulty
equipments, poor lights, temperatures, ineffective tools and machinery are used for
communication (Norouzinia and et. al., 2016).

Attitudinal Barriers: Attitudinal barriers to communication may arise form different
personality conflicts, ego, poor management, inconsiderate behaviour, resistance to change, lack
of motivation etc. (Thomas, 2015).
Devise and develop strategies for overcoming communication barriers.
There are many ways and strategies which helps Mr. Fishy in developing effective
communication with their staff members. Along with this MR. Fishy has formulated some

strategies to overcoming form communications barriers and helps them in further communication
(Waheed and et. al., 2015). Such tactics are described below:
Using of simple and easy language.
By reducing level of unnecessary noise.
By active listening and avoiding sharing of overloaded informations (Pound and et. al.,
2018).
Making short communication and effective communication channel.
With fully concern with cultural differences.
Having clear and specified thoughts.
By understanding needs of audience and taking care of tone and language of message.
By taking proper feedback.
By keeping a regular check-up on communication system.

By following effective C's of communication (clarity, credibility, content, context,
continuity, capability, channels )
Demonstrate awareness of cultural influences on communication and negotiation.
It is analysed that, culture also influences the effective communication and negotiation
power. According to given scenario its is identified that due to Brexit relation between British
and non-British employee get tensed. Although, overcoming from culture issue and
communicating, its necessary for MR. Fishy to implement new working policies in workplace in
order to promote effective relations by motivating employee to communicate with other staff
members (Sutter and Kieser, 2019) .
CONCLUSION
From the above assignment it is analysed that there are some barriers which can disturb
effective communication in workplace. In this above assignment different communication
obstruction are discussed in brief, with some of their overcoming tools and strategies. Along with
this, it considers the awareness of cultural influences on communication as well as negotiation in
effective manner.
