Social media is now a crucial communication tool, which creates new possibilities of
both citizens as well as governmental organizations in producing their content, monitor crisis
issues as well as engage in speedy communication. Facebook is essential strategy for
communicating with much more employees as well as transmitting right message through it.
There is use of Facebook within organizations for increasing their productivity through
advertising the services and products (Abatayo, Lynham & Sherstyuk, 2018). However, platform
of social media such as Facebook could be a distraction to the employees as well as could lead in
productivity’s loss. Social media’s unrestricted usage is having negative impact over productivity
or could create a distraction for the employees. There lies a question that is Facebook
communication good or a distraction for business.
Due to social media’s growth, the organizations are interested in adopting this for
communicating daily with the publics. Due to use of Facebook, this could result as loss in
productivity for the organizations. Social media changed the information sharing as well as
practices for building relationship online (Eriksson & Olsson, 2016). Facebook’s extensive use
by the employees could result in increase in the loss of defamation, employee solicitation,
misinformation and confidential information. It is seen that Facebook is most visited platform of
social media, also for the employees. Participants interact with each other through option of text
messaging (Cho, Furey & Mohr, 2017). Participants could interact with each other through wall
post as well as replies of the post. Use of Facebook at the workplace has become quite rampant.
It is seen that many of the employees use Facebook for close to two hours at work per day, which
could be an easy distraction for the employees.

Behaviors on social media are of three levels: crating, contributing and consuming.
Creating is highest level. Facebook groups could be valuable tool which could enhance
communication in the business, allowing the employees in sharing information, questionnaires
and images in environment of message board (Kim & Yang, 2017). Contributing is interactions
among contents and users along with among the users that include commenting in the posts or
participating in the forums. Employees use Facebook to communicate with each other and the
organization uses Facebook for promoting the service and products. On one hand, employee’s
focus as well as their energy and time’s output is crucial to livelihood of organization which
employs them (Ye & Ki, 2018). On other hand, unregulated distractions such as Facebook are
disruptive potentially.
Communication among agents is crucial for economic cooperation within several
settings. Through Facebook, organizations could promote their services as well as products to the
users. Facebook could be an essential strategy for communicating with much more employees,
however this could a distraction for the employees and could result in loss in productivity for the
organization. Instead of instituting rules blindly, the organizations must get to misuse’s root
cause as well as the device policies which make the work culture much more aspirational and
work much more challenging.
