Meetings are important in terms of assessing the effectiveness, appropriateness and
feasibility of the strategies undertaken for enhancing the productivity. According to the
arguments of Lehmann et al., (2018), Agile practices are assistance towards strategizing the
business activities according to their priorities. The managers play an important role in terms
of involving the personnel in the meetings for diversifying the decision making process.
Therefore, the thesis statement of this essay is to assess meeting as important or a waste of
time.
The average time spent by the managers in meeting reflects their approach towards
evaluating the effectiveness of the implemented strategies. Involving the employees, clients
and the customers in the meetings generates creative ideas for executing the activities. Within
this, Yoerger, Crowe and Allen, (2015) is of the view that ethical approach is needed by the
managers for respecting the individual sentiments of the personnel. Typical reference of this
is the Ethical Consent Form, which helps in averting the illegal instances in involving the
personnel in the business operations. On the contrary, Allen, Lehmann-Willenbrock and
Sands, (2016) states that Virtual meetings are an example of the technological upgradation.
Typical example is that of the computer mediated discourse, which enhances the awareness
of the employees regarding the judicious use of the systems.
According to the opinions of Lockwood and Forey, (2016), this virtual interaction
improves the virtual skills of the personnel in terms of voicing out the issues, which they are
facing while executing the allocated tasks and responsibilities. Along with this, Mroz,
Yoerger and Allen, (2018) opines that meeting can be one of an effective tool in terms of
providing justification regarding termination, indicating transparency in the business
processes. In this discussion, strategies can be developed for averting the cases of turnover in
future.
