1BUSINESS COMMUNICATION
The business communication is a very important part of any organostions. This is due
to the fact that the members express their ideas, and clear recommendation towards the
enterprise related topic. Business communication is mainly of two types internal and external.
The internal communication includes the communication system of the human resource of the
company and the external types include the communication system with the customers,
governments, suppliers and other stakeholders (Ladegaard & Jenks, 2015). Both these types
of communication system are dependent upon verbal, non-verbal, written and electronic
communication forms. Verbal communication is the oldest form of communication in
business but remains popular. The interaction method includes interviews, personal task
assignments, and live meetings. Because of its simplicity as well as directness of this type of
communication has made this effective in business. The non-verbal communication system
includes body gestures, smile, handshakes and many other ways that fulfils the requirement
of communication (Coffelt, Baker & Corey, 2016). Finally the written communication
includes the emails, resume, orders and other physical documents that convey the message to
the concerned people.
The internal type of business communication are divided into three types of
communication system that include upward, downward and lateral communication system.
The upward system of communication conveys the message of the subordinates to the
management. Similarly, the downward communication system captures the process of
conveying message to the employees from the higher authority (Ladegaard & Jenks, 2015).
The lateral communication system relates to the cross departmental communication or
communication among the employees within a same team or responsibilities. For example the
manager of the organization has question about special order, hence requesting explanation
from company’s sales representative through email and office messaging system. The

employees of the company is more powerful when the upward communication system strong
