Introduction
Businesses have become Global in existence and the workforce diversity has
grown by leaps and bounds. Increasing penetration of technology in businesses has
created an impact in almost all the business functions, verticals, department and
processes (Pearson, 2017). Business in the present day has become dynamic in nature,
and owing to globalization, advanced technology, effective business communication has
become significant. Business communication is used by each and every person in the
organization and it is the pedestal of success for the organization. Effective business
communication is when the intent of the message is same as the impact received by the
receiver (Quirke, 2017). In the present business day, organizations are moving from the
traditional communication channels to the advanced and contemporary solution which
makes the message travel faster, highly efficient and reduce the noise in the
communication process (Fuchs, 2017).
The underlying purpose of the proposal here is to create awareness and
emphasize on the importance of business communication and the strategy to increase
the effectiveness of communication in the business organization. As mentioned in the
earlier part, technology has played an important role in the way people communicate
with each other, in their personal lives or in business. A paradigm shift has been seen
from the traditional methods of oral, written communication to digital communication.
All the organization are leveraging the benefits of social media and the internet to
increase the efficiency and effectiveness of the communication, moreover the two way
communication platform which has a wider reach helps the organization to make the
message travel faster with higher reach and high open rate. Thus, the report will focus
on using social media in the workplace to communicate, communicating companywide
employee recognition, boasting workplace motivation through innovative
communication tools, usage of Podcasts, blogs, vlogs and other solution to ensure
effective communication in the workplace.

Background
The previous assignment was focussed on the levels of business communication
and the direction of management communication. The report also focussed on the usage
of social media in business communication and the pros and cons of using digital media
platforms for business communication. The report focussed on the company Google,
whose innovative products such as Google Hangouts, Google drive, Google chat, Google
Home, Gmail and other such tools. Google has been the pioneer in terms of technological
revolution and the first one to use such innovative products to improve the business
communication.
It has been mentioned in the assignment that communication in the business
organization occurs at many levels, primarily, upward, lateral, downward and outward
communication. It has been also pointed that organization are moving towards social
media as communication channels, especially Facebook and Linked in to engage the
employees and have openness in communication as the culture in the organization.
Facebook, Vlogs and online sources such as Asana have become important channels of
business communication and also allows for increased interaction, engagement and
collaboration amongst the employees. The highly cost effective platforms also help the
organization to reduce the cost and also help in faster communication in the business
organization.
Linked-in as the social media platform has garnered strong support not only
from the business organization, but also from the employees and tech enthusiasts.
Companies have understood the benefits of the second largest social media platform
and are using the platform for the skill development, important business
communication and other such uses. In the similar manner, the world largest social
media platform Facebook has been working on making its platform a collaborative and
engaging in nature, the option of group chat and communities is helping the
organization to form groups and communities specific to the project.

Context
Google is the largest search engine platform which also provides business tools
which helps the organization to engage and communicate effectively with the
employees. The company uses social media platform to reward and recognize the talent
in the organization which also serves as motivation to the employees (Harper, 2015).
Moreover, the company also uses chat bots which is internal to the organization to send
important communication to the stakeholders in the organization. Company uses its
website and other tech platforms to communicate with the clients, and to ensure a high
degree of customer satisfaction. As mentioned, Google has been the pioneer and the
brain behind introducing innovation in its communication platforms, the company has
also helped other organization to push the spectrum of communication in the business
organization (Seppala et. al., 2016).
Google, which is headed by Sunder Pichai is not focussing on Machine learning
and Artificial intelligence and creating products which would increase the efficiency and
effectiveness of the communication channels. Google Duo, another communication
platform of Google has been finding great utility in various business organizations. The
tool is being appreciated for its easy usage, no interruptions or noise and wider reach.
Thus, Google can be seen as sitting at the helm of communication ecosystem which is
consistently coming up with innovative products to push the envelope of
communication in the business organization (Ashley & Tuten, 2015).
Proposal
The proposal for the report is intended to create awareness amongst the readers
on the contemporary tools of business communication in the organization.
Communication is the life and blood of the organization, any kind of information block,
or communication block can put the entire organization in jeopardy and bring the
organization to a standstill. The report after emphasizing on the importance of business
communication will also highlight the challenges or obstacles in the path of effective
business communication, and how the problem can be solved (Sunstein, 2018).
The world has become more like a Global village, thanks to Internet and Global
marketing, it makes the organization explore their business potential outside of the

domestic market. It is thus the communication platforms which come to the rescue in
ensuing that a good and open communication prevails in the subsidiary unit using the
digital communication tools (Best, Manktelow & Taylor, 2014). Towards the end, based
on the analysis and secondary research conducted on the business communication and
how to increase the efficiency of the communication platform, a set of recommendation
will be suggested to Google to give an impetus to its business communication strategy.
