Effective business communication is the main element in the working place of every
organisation which gives aid to enhance the performance of the individual to satisfy the
requirement of the customers. The self-reflection is based on the effective business
communication that segregates in the three sections which describe my experience of learning.
Proper communication is a need because there are various important information transfers to
each other in the organisation on the daily basis and provides support to make the accurate
decision for the business. The first section provides the introduction of the various concept of
effective communication and the second section is specifically gives the introduction of the one
communication concept which mentions in the ten weeks. Apart from this, the third section
presents the knowledge of the two communication concept that gives help to my future
development in the professional world.
I get better knowledge through the study of the week 1 that effective communication is an
essential factor which makes the professional world more effective and easy to transfer the
important information in the appropriate way. The ethical communication is the kind of process
that supports the coordination in the work process and builds the efficient team in the
organisation (Zhu & White, 2009). The sustainability in the effort of the work possible because
of the proper communication in between the employees that gives aid to work in the team and
support each other in an effective way. It is essential for the success of the organisation that each
the employee gives their effort and skills in the one direction to attain the objectives of the
business which possible because of the exact conversation process. Effective communication is
also necessary because it’s reduced my hesitation and builds the confidence to give my point of
view on the particular topic. This process of communication also gives aid to the managers to
provide the information of the work segregation to their team members so that everyone knows
about their area of working and gives its full effort in the one direction.
The week 2 presents the introduction that effective communication is built in the two types of
conversation that is non-verbal communication and listing skills. According to the study of the
non-verbal communication that confidence, professionalism, and enthusiasm should be available
in the posture of the employee. This gives the learning that most of the time the communication
does not proceed in the verbal process but in the sign language or in the body language (De

Nobile, 2017). So, it is necessary for me to understand the importance of the non-verbal
communication process in the meetings and inspection event. On the other hand, the listing skills
also available in the person so that carefully listen about the instruction that provides by the
prospective manager. This is not compulsory to provide their own views but also listen up the
other point of view so that understand the innovative ideas and apply in the workplace. The
proper communication and listening process need some aspects that support the process of
conversation such as posture, eye contact, and vocal tone.
According to the study of week 3, I must learn about the written communication that supports
my future career because written communication is the main part of the professional world.
Today, every information and data transfer through the emails so that it secures the information
and easily exchange in between the sender and receiver. The written communication successfully
accomplishes by the emails, chat groups, Fax, and telecommunication resources so that
information exchanged in the proper security basis (Lloyd, et. al., 2015). On the other hand, the
grammar, formation and spelling correction is the main element that should be available in the
written communication to maintain professionalism in the organisation.
The week 4 is about the written academic skill that gives aid to develop the efficiency in the
working process of the employees and support the innovative ideas to enhance the quality of the
work. The academic written skill support to increase the good ability to improvise the quality of
the presentation and report that present in the meeting to introduce with the exact objectives of
the particular area (Jia, et. al., 2017). Alternatively, I understand the importance of the accurately
written skills because of its support the formation and frame of the sentences and maintain the
professionalism in written communication.
As per the understanding of week 5, the academic written essay is properly mentioned by the
help of my self-reflection on the particular topic. This week is based on the two aspects such as
literature review and self-reflection that provides by my views and the thoughts of the authors
who provides the model and theory of the business. Self-reflection is depended on my own
research of the written academic essay that supports the effective decision-making process
(Zuidema & Bush, 2011). The literature review provides the understanding of the effective

decision-making process which based on the possible because of the accurate written
communication to get a better outcome in the business.
The week 6 is based on the public speaking skill that needs to be built in me because it is the
way to invent the confidence to provides the personal thoughts in the public and enhance the
quality of the service. In the field of the business, most of the employees must interact with the
customers in the daily basis so that it is compulsory that the person should be confident, accurate
in the conversation and satisfy the requirement of the customers (Martin & Nakayama, 2013).
This skill enhances the sales power in me and attracts the more customers in an effective manner
so that the profitability of the organisation increased automatically. The public speaking skills
improvise the ability in the co-workers and manager to provide an effective suggestion without
any hesitation to attain the objectives of the business.
Intercultural communication skill is mention in week 7 that support the habit to accept the
other cultures and mindset of the different people so that business grows in the global world. The
competition is increased on a daily basis so it is essential for each organisation spread the
business in the various countries to enhance the profitability in an effective manner. I understand
that the intercultural communication skill provides the various opportunities to get the profit in
other countries as well (Bodie, 2010). This supports the learning of the various languages and
accepts the multiplicity of the countries to spread the business in an innovative way.
The organisational structure and communication skills support the communication process in
the properly structured way so that instruction proceeds in the step by step process in the top to a
bottom process which is mention in week 8. The organisational structure proceeds in the top to a
bottom process which should be mentioned to the employees so that communicate with the
managers in that way to maintain professionalism. According to the study that there are two
types of the communication process in the organisation such as external and internal
communication process (Bovee & Courtland, 2012). The internal communication process
happens in the field of the organisation that discusses the objectives, goals, and targets of the
business in the meeting. On the other hand, the external communication process is happening in
the outside of the business such as conversation with the customers and stakeholders in a

Week 9 presents the learning of the meeting process which based on the extensive
communication skill that provides the study that interaction with the customers and co-workers
need to be in the proper meeting. I understand that the meeting must be started in the formal
introduction and maintain professionalism in the duration of the conversation. This process
invents the good habit in the employees that the conversation always happens in the proper
manner in the professional area. The meeting is the main feature of every organisation that
provides the right to the other employees and customers to give their thoughts and suggestions
on the particular topic.
The interpersonal and intrapersonal communication skill is mention in the week 10 that
introduce with the personal and professional lifestyle of the employee that manages the
conversation accordingly. Intrapersonal communication proceeds with the self-conversation
where I talk to myself regarding my opinion that present in the public sector (Robles, 2012). On
the other hand, interpersonal communication happens in between the two people and more to
make the conversation on the particular topic. Both the communication process should be
available in the employee so that it is easy to build the relations and satisfy the requirement of
the owner. The harsh communication invents the conflict so that conversation needs to be soft so
relations are good in between the employees in the workplace.
Public speaking is the proper communication process that should be available in the employee so
that invent the confidence in me and the employees so that provides the point of view without
any hesitation. In the field of the business, most of the employees must interact with the
customers in the daily basis so that it is compulsory that the person should be confident, accurate
in the conversation and satisfy the requirement of the customers (Guffey & Loewy, 2012). So, it
is essential for the HRM to conduct the proper communication skills training so that each the
employee enhance their communication skills and always ready to share their views on the
particular topic. This skill enhances the sales power in me and attracts the more customers in an
effective manner so that the profitability of the organisation increased automatically. The public
speaking skill is beneficial for the employees because it reduces the hesitation and makes the

employee confidant to participate in the activities to spread the business in the global market.
The employee gets the motivation through these skills to communicate with their co-workers and
managers freely regarding the issue or any kind of important discussion. These communication
skills need to the employees because the formal communication happens on a daily basis to
attain the objectives in an effective manner.
Non-verbal communication and listing skills are the proper communication process provide the
understanding that my professional career will be smooth if I understand the professional posture
and listen to the instruction which provides by the managers (Lolli, 2013). These skills make the
ability in me to connect with the others in the appropriate manner so that maintain the stability in
my career and attain the objectives. The listening skill builds the skill in me to carefully
understand the instructions which provide by my seniors and make the innovative efforts in the
workplace.
Other than the last skills, I understand that the good written communication skills also provide
aid to enhance the skills in me to attain the objectives of my future career. The written
communication successfully accomplishes by the emails, chat groups, Fax, and
telecommunication resources so that information exchanged in the proper security basis. So, I
make the note that my written communication should be effective and provided through the
various sources of communication (Adler & Elmhorst, 2012). It is also necessary for me to
understand the formal conversation which supports in my professional life because it is essential
that the professional communication proceeds in the step by step process. The written
communication process also reduces the mistakes which happen in the verbal communication
and this is the proof for the person who sends the information.
It concluded from the learning of the weeks that effective communication have the various
concept but the only effective and suitable concept is beneficial for the person who wants to
succeed in their professional career. The written communication and listening skills are an
effective process that should be available in me because I want to make my career more effective
and outcome oriented. This is the better way to provide my thoughts and point of views to the
others in the appropriate manner which is helpful for my growth in the competitive market.
