INTRODUCTION
Communication is the process of conveying messages from one to another through means
of mutual understanding using signs and langue rules. Communication in business is the sharing
of information between people within or outside an organisation for the benefit of the
organisation. To have an effective business communication a two way information sharing
procedure is involved where message is sent by one party that is easily understood by the
receiving party. Effective communication in business helps in sharing information to the
employees in the company and can contribute to the success of the business. A clear hierarchy
need to be establish to generate a clear understanding of the business. For effective business
these qualities are essential such as using visual communication, managing conflicts, considering
cultural problems and must posses a good written communication. In the present report different
communication skills, there qualities to understand others requirement and having effective
communication is discussed.
Describing events and my experience
The event that took place in the organisation to formulate effective business
communication is as follows:
Building and managing relationships: To have an effective communication in the
business it was required to develop and establish a good work relationships as it is
important for a positive workplace. Here, I encouraged managers to have a positive
relationship with the employees and with the co-workers as well. There was problem of
employee and employer relationship as they were no proper guidance for the employees.
Organisation was facing issues in relation to retain employees and this issue was creating
problems for the management. So to develop relationship among the employees and
management I preferred management to make employees feel comfortable at the
workplace. To do so they needed to make employees take part in organisations meetings
and give suggestions for improvement. I took the responsibility to engage employees in
the workplace activities, as there was a gap between them and they were not given equal
opportunities due to communication gap(Kernbach, Eppler, and Bresciani,
2015). The management was behaving like a boss that was going against them and the
employees were leaving the organisation frequently. So to overcome this situation I

made a plan that management has to implement to build and maintain that relationship.
The plan was to engage the employees in the organisational activities and to give
responsibilities to them and take their suggestions for development of the organisation.
This could be possible only if there is an effective communication between the
employees and employer. I took initiative to provide companies mission and vision for
them and made them to adhere by these. Also, asked them to give their valuable
suggestion and communicate different ideas to achieve these goals. This made them feel
important in the organisation and they started interacting with the management and
suggested ideas to make prior decisions. This also lead to have effective communication
between them and started to develop relationship among them(Alfes, Shantz, and
Soane,2013).
Managing employees: This is the important process for the organisation, to manage
employees effectively it is required to have effective communication with the
employees. Good communication is the key to maintain employees in the organisation.
To develop these skills it is required from the management to build good relationship
among them. At this point I observed that there was a mismanagement in maintaining
employees in the organisation, so I started interacting with the employees. Made points
to understand employees problems in the organisation, developed situations to overcome
these problems. Stared effectively communication with the employees as it builds their
morale, satisfaction and encourages them to engage in organisational practices. Effective
communication with the employees also helps in safeguarding their loyalty and build
trust among them. To maintain healthy employee relation I developed strategies where
employees were made comfortable to communicate their issues related to their work.
Employees has opportunities to suggest ideas from their side for better work
environment regarding the problems they were facing at the workplace(Toth, 2013). I
provided a suggestion box at the workplace where everyone was free to communicate
their message to the management. I heard the problems and issues related to the
employer behaviour and issues that concern in the workplace. Everyone in the
organisation was given a role to communicate effectively and constant feedback were
given by listening to their issues. I made a plan to execute effective training program for
the employees so that their problems are understood and they feel comfortable at the

workplace. To manage the workplace it is important to manage employees effectively
and build relationships among employees at the workplace so to have good working
environment for the employees and employer in the organisation.
Interpretation and evaluation of the events from my perspective
From the above events I have interpreted that to have a good business communication it
is required to develop and maintain a healthy relationship among the employees. To build a good
relationship among the employees and employer it is required to hear their issues and concerns in
the organisation. This makes them to build trust for the organisation and their interest to work in
the organisation. Earlier I have noticed that employees were leaving the organisation as employer
were not giving them chance to communicate their message to the management. After my
implementation of the plan to involve the employees in the organisational practices there was a
healthy employee and employer relationship. Employees were free to communicate their
messages to the management in terms of their problems related to the
organisation(Strohmeier, 2013). I also evaluated that it is required to manage the employees
at the workplace to have an effective business communication. It is also evaluated that to
maintain the employee's relation in the workplace it is must that employees feel free to make
their contribution in the organisation activities. Interpretation is made in the favour of
organisation and employees to build their relation so to develop creative ideas and to achieve the
goals and mission of the company. The events interpret that employees feel motivated by
engaging them in the activities of the organisation and developing good relation between them.
My perspective towards the success of organisation states that there must be a conflict free work
environment and employers must look into the matter to have good workplace relations.
Developing strategies to understand employees needs and requirement in the workplace will
generate trust among them and they will feel motivated to work in the organisation(Vekeman,
Devos, and Valcke, 2016). This process will also deliver in the employee retention
technique of the company.
Reflection
This information about the organisation's effectiveness is useful in the terms that I have
to make proper arrangement to develop employee relation with the employer so that it is easier
for them to communicate effectively in the organisation and maintain a healthy relationship at
the workplace. Questions that I have to take care are how will I manage to develop or build and

maintain relationship among them at workplace? Another question that makes an impact on
effective business communication is how to manage employees in the workplace?
These questions have made me change my thinking towards the success of organisation,
as it is necessary to have a healthy relationship among employees and employer at the
workplace. I have than made strategies to overcome these issues and build relations between
them by engaging them in the activities performed by the organisation. To make sure that
organisational activities are effectively completed I made suggestions in the management to take
employees feedback on purpose to increase their interest in all the organisations practices. I
made proper arrangements to meet the needs of the organisation and develop employees abilities
for generating creative ideas to maintain their relationship(Supanti, Butcher, and
Fredline,L., 2015). It is also understood to make employees needs fulfil in the organisation
by taking their suggestions to make decisions that are beneficial for company. To also make
employees worth in the organisation I have developed plans that they had followed and their
demands were also heard by the management. I made situations where employees were given
opportunities to take initiative for achieving the organisation mission and goals. They were given
responsibilities to manage themselves and activities that they need to perform in the organisation
which gives them opportunities to prove in the workplace. I have learnt from the study that it is
difficult to manage employees in the organisation as each and every employee has different
issues that need to be solved. I also learned to develop relationship in the company and managing
it for the success of the organisation. It connects to the situation where all need to make equal
contribution to maintain good relationship in the organisation.
Conclusion
From the study I have concluded that to have effective communication in the business it
is required to have two way process of communication. The employer also need to build
relationship among the employees and the employee also need to communicate effectively to
make their points reach to the management. It is important for the management to make sure that
they take initiatives to maintain employee's interest in the organisation and provide opportunities
to them to retain themselves in the organisation.
