Introduction
Communication is a process of passing the information from one person to another. Effective
business communication is necessary for the development and growth of an organization. This
report presents the effective business communication which is essential for an organization. The
report explains the good practices which can be used by the organization to make their
communication more effective. The report also shows the future strategies for the organizational
communication which controls, coordinates and maintains all organizational activities and
relationship both inside and outside of the organization.
Good practices for effective communication
According to Decuyper et al. (2010), for the development and growth of any multinational
organization, the communication strategy which organization builds is the most significant factor
for its development. With a specific end goal to enhance the correspondence in the organization,
manager must identify some of the good practices which help the company to make their
communication effective internally and externally. Some of the good practices for the effective
communication are as follows:
Establish an open communication environment
According to Goetsch & Davis (2014), an organization must have an objective to establish a
communication atmosphere in which all the employees of the organization are free to express
their ideas and feedback, their thoughts and even the criticism of any issue or problems. The
manager of the organization who aims to create open communication can assemble to build trust
inside their members and are inclined to acquire successful results.
Actively listen
To make the communication effective among employees, active listening is very important in the
organization. Both the employers and employees must be active listeners. The proper listening
creates a proper communication between the employer and employees as what employers want
and what employees will have to do in order to achieve their business objectives and goals in a
desirable manner (Guffey & Loewy, 2010).

Provide channels to transfer messages
The manager must ensure that each and every employee of the organization receives the
messages that employers want to send it through various multiple channels. According to Welch
(2011), there are some highly effective channels which transfer the messages like face to face
conversation, meetings, emails, by telephonic conversation and faxes. All these channels will
help the organization to make their communication effective both internally and externally.
Future strategies
According to West (2012), there are many challenges in the organization which affects the
communication among the members. For this purpose, manager initiates some future strategies
with the goal to overcome these challenges and improve the communication in the organization.
Intercultural communication
Intercultural communication may be defined as a situation in which people from different
cultural backgrounds are in involved in communication. According to Zheng et al. (2010), the
diverse cultural context of people significantly affects the communication as management
practices of those cultures are also likely to differ. The intercultural communication managing a
different language and offers the ability to deal across cultures and essential to remove the
cultural barriers and creates awareness of cultural norms as well as enhancing self-awareness and
communication skills among the employees in the organization.
Face negotiation theory
The cultural differences in the general public shape the reactions to clashes in different societies.
Face negotiation theory gives the hypothetical basis to comprehension for anticipating how
individuals will achieve face work in various social settings. Face refers to an individual self-
picture described to them by the other people. Face negotiation theory explains the reasons
behind the different ways people come from different culture manage the conflicts. The theory
places exceptional emphasis upon the diverse perspectives of individuals from collectivist and
individualistic societies and improves the communication.

Conduct a network analysis
The organization must build a network analysis in order to determine the patterns of
communication interactive. Network analysis enables the organization to understand the current
communication corresponds with the formal and normative expectations for the interactive
communication in the organization. There is pattern of network analysis which manager can
adopt for the improved communication in the organization which is as follows:
Informal communication and grapevine network
Informal communications and grapevine network shows how the information passes from one
person to another. Informal communication plays an important role in order to operate the
business activities. Grapevine network is an informal communication that happens inside the
organization because of talk and chatter. There are various forms in an informal communication
network such as single strand network and gossip chain network which remove the
communication barriers and enable the members to make effective communication.
Single strand network: In single strand network, the information passes through a line of persons
to the ultimate recipient. In this pattern, one person passes the information to the following
person and likewise, the third person will likewise convey a similar message to the following
person. This pattern is less reliable and accurate to pass on the message.
Gossip chain network: In gossip chain network, one individual advises the messages to every one
of the individuals specifically in the network. The individual is thinking about as the focal
individual who conveys and passes the data to all that he has obtained. This pattern is utilized
when the issue is random to the idea of the job.
Conclusion
From this report, it has been concluded that effective communication is very important in the
business organization in order to achieve its stated objectives. This report gives the some of the
good practices which improve the communication in the organization and also initiates some
future strategies that remove the communication barriers and help the members to make
communication effective both internally and externally.
