INTRODUCTION
Business communication means the communication which occurs at workplace. Effective
business communication can lead to organizational success. Business united is the college at
London. This report will discuss various organizational communication theory. Further it will
discuss that what are the barriers of communication in business united. Study will also discuss
strategies to overcome the barriers.

Theories of organizational communication
Organizational communication:
Organizational communication refers to the communication which takes place within the
company. Effective communication should be there in organization so that company's objectives
can be achieved. Communication barriers can lead to conflicts and which can hinder
performance of workforce (Rosenberry and Vicker, 2017). Proper Organizational
communication can lead to employee engagement, collaboration, trust, cooperation which help in
smooth business functioning. Effective communication is helpful in decreasing misunderstanding
between employees. Employee gets motivated by getting good experience and which helps in
increasing their productivity. Employees start helping each other and which builds trust within
them at workplace.
Some theories of organization communications are as follows:
Communication accommodation theory:
Communication accommodation theory refers to that when communication style is
adjusted by people for others. Changes can be made in verbal or non-verbal communication both.
Divergence is used by the groups who have strong ethic whereas convergence are used by those
people who are powerless and always think about person's comfort with whom they are speaking
with.
Adaptive structuration communication theory:
It refers that rules which are created by organization and resources which are used by
them are said to be structures. Further social systems are formed form the structures which is
helpful in developing life. Decision making is affected from structure's quality.

2017). Relations in business united between students and teachers can be improved by fulfilling
each other's interest. Here self-interest is not considered as selfish thing but rather it is seen that
relationships are build with it.

Cultivation theory does argument that media is shaping reality of the person. Nowadays
people are taking information from media only rather than having personal experience with
them. Views and ideas of people are getting impacted from the sources. Viewer believes that

The theory believes that without communication there should be no development. If
business united have to attain success then effective communication is must. Communication
barrier will take birth because of lack of communication and that is not good for any

Due to covid 19 students are facing issues in communication some of them are:
technical barrier:
Students at business united have to face problem because of poor wifi. Due to this students miss
out impotent part of lectures and due to that they did not understand that part of lecture which is
taught in the future (Shin and Hecht, 2017). Many professors are using old computer system, so
it takes time in loading pages. It is the biggest barrier when it comes to online teaching because
without proper technical support students will not understand the lecture.
Physical barrier:
Due to constant looking at screen while studying students now are feeling uncomfortable. Some
students even got headaches, eye irritation and backaches. Students are not able to concentrate
like earlier they were doing. Daily sitting for so many hours in front of computers are damaging
health of students. Students are also not able to see gestures and body language of professors
which is also making communication less effective. Face to face communication is more
effective as compare to effective communication.
